Fairy Farming Guide: Where to Get Fairies and How to Use Them

Fairies can be held onto and used to revive Link once he runs out of health in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Learn where to find fairies, how to use them, their buy and sell prices, and cooking effects!

How to Get Fairies

Approach Fairies Stealthily

Sneak up on Fairies or grab them while you're gliding to make obtaining these elusive creatures much simpler, as they have an inclination towards running away and despawning once they become aware of Link's presence!

Alternatively, you could wear the Stealth Set or the Yiga Armor to increase your Stealth and hide your presence to make farming Fairies much easier!

Use the Sensor +

TotK - Fairy Compendium
Fairies can be found with the Sensor + because they can be indexed in the Compendium! Take advantage of this game mechanic by snapping a photo of any Fairies the next time you see some!

Circle Pond Type Sky Islands

Fairies can be found floating near the circular ponds that are sometimes included in sky islands. Sky islands such as these are most commonly found when participating in the game's Dive Challenges.

South Hyrule Sky Archipelago

TotK - South Hyrule Sky Archipelago Sky Island
Launch yourself from Hyrule Field Skyview Tower and immediately glide southwards to see a Sky Island with a pool of water and a turret. Sky Islands that look similar to this one always have 3 Fairies that fly around the pool of water in the middle.

Remember to take breaks on nearby sky islands incase your stamina isn't high enough to glide all the way to this island.

Outskirt Stable Well

TotK - Outskirts Stable Well Entrance
Again, launch yourself from Hyrule Field Skyview Tower and glide in a westward direction to eventually reach the Outskirt Stable. Alternatively, you could teleport to the Tsutsu-um Shrine and just walk.

The entrance to the well is situated behind the stables. Once inside, swim through the small tunnel to reach the alcove containing the Fairies.

Make sure you've invested in Stamina containers to ensure your ability to reach this part of the well.

Mt. Drena Foothill Cave

Map View World View
Coordinates -1372, 2857, 0199

Step One

TotK - Mt. Drena Foothill Cave Entrance
Launch yourself from Pikida Stongrove Skyview Tower and fly southeastward to reach the Orochium Shrine and Snowfield Stable if you haven't already unlocked these locations.

From here, head northeast to reach the Mt. Drena Foothill Cave, which can be found somewhat close the location of Great Fairy Mija.

Step Two

TotK - Inside Mt. Drena Foothill Cave
Once inside, the cave will seem empty. Look to the top-left side of the cave to see the entrance to the alcove where the Fairies and Bubbul Frog are waiting.

Bring a blunt weapon because there will be a breakable wall that you need to pass in order to reach the Fairies.

How to Use Fairies

Auto-Revive

Having at least one Fairy in your inventory protects Link from death. Instead of going to the Game Over screen once Link runs out of Hearts, he will instead be auto-revived while one Fairy is consumed from your inventory.
