Yunobo returns to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK) as president of YunoboCo in Goron City. Read on for details on Yunobo's backstory from Breath of the Wild, character traits, as well as his role in Tears of the Kingdom.

Yunobo is a boss that Link needs to defeat as part of the Yunobo of Goron City main quest. He wears a mask that Zelda gave to him which caused him to become possessed.
After Link destroys the mask during the fight, Yunobo returns to his old self and agrees to help Link find Zelda in Death Mountain.

Yunobo helps Link navigate his way through Goron City and Death Mountain using his Power of Fire. This ability allows Yunobo to perform a fiery rolling attack to destroy marbled rock roasts that are blocking pathways.

Yunobo is a descendant of Daruk, one of the five Champions chosen to go up against Calamity Ganon and pilot Divine Beast Vah Rudania.
Will The Champions Make an Appearance?

Yunobo originally worked under Bludo, a Goron boss and patriarch of the Goron City. Yunobo was tasked with delivering painkillers for Bludo but went missing in the Abandoned North Mine. Link saves him and agrees to assist him in taking down the Divine Beast Vah Rudania.
Yunobo helps Link climb the Death Mountain and take down the Divine Beast Vah Rudania. Link uses him as a cannon to destroy the Divine Beast's sentries.
Yunobo witnesses Daruk's spirit after Link neutralizes the Divine Beast. He returns to Goron City and gains his courage.
