It is possible to find the Forest Octorok when exploring Hyrule Ridge and Deep Akkala.
If you have a picture of the Forest Octorok, you can set it as a target for your Sensor+, through the Compendium, to detect when one is nearby.
How to Unlock the Sensor +

Wait for the Forest Octorok to appear above the ground to fire their rock attack. Once they're above the ground, prepare your bow and shoot them with an arrow to instantly kill them.
How to Farm Arrows
Cutting the plant on Its head with sharp weapons will force it out of the ground, giving you an opportunity to finish it off with your melee attacks.
Be quick in attacking it as the Octorok will return to the ground after a moment and attach another plant on its head.
 Although originally an aquatic species, this type has adapted to life in the forest. They hide among the trees, disguising themselves as grass or unassuming shrubbery, and then attack when someone wanders by. |
