You won't be able to simply walk or glide to enter Korok Forest or at any point in the whole Great Hyrule Forest area. The Great Hyrule Forest is wrapped in fog that doesn't allow anyone to go through; if you try to, the screen will fade out and you will be teleported back to your last location.
To enter the Korok Forest, you'll have to go through the Depths and go up to where the forest is.

From the surface, dive into the Minshi Woods Chasm: the red spot in the map located southeast of the forest with the coordinates (1059, 1651, 0165).
At the Depths, head north following the Poes, and find the temple-like area with the Rikanosum Lightroot nearby. Ascend through the ceiling of this area to get to the inside of the forest.

and Enter the Korok Forest

When you arrive in the forest, however, you'll find that it has been ravaged by Gloom. The Great Deku Tree and all the Koroks don't respond when talked to, and the shops aren't open.
To restore the forest, you'll have to defeat the Gloom Hands and the Phantom Ganon Boss in the Depths at the bottom of the Deku Tree Chasm hole inside the Deku Tree.
How to Beat Phantom Ganon Boss

After defeating Phantom Ganon, the Korok Forest will be restored. The Great Deku Forest and all the Koroks can talk again, and the shops will become available. Hestu will move in and will be available in the area anytime.
