You don't need to get the complete compendium database, but you'll need a considerable number of entries to finish the side adventure.

there is no standard gleeok, but flame seems to be the most common

on one part of this site says gloom spawn(gloom hands) is compendium number 999 but that doesn't exist on their compendium page
