TOTK - Lynel Locations and How to Find

It is possible to find the Lynel when exploring Hyrule Field and Central Hyrule Depths.

If you have a picture of the Lynel, you can set it as a target for your Sensor+, through the Compendium, to detect when one is nearby.
How to Unlock the Sensor +

Each Stable Has a Lynel Beneath It in the Depths

Another thing worth noting is that all Stables found on the surface area of Hyrule has a Lynel present beneath it in the Depths.

Although keep in mind that not every Lynel found in the depths has a stable above and you'll still encounter them in various different locations throughout your expedition in the depths.

How to Beat the Lynel

Tips and Strategies

Mount the Lynel

One of the recommended ways to beat a Lynel is to sneakily mount it from behind and unleash as much damage as you can. It is recommended to have the Stealth Set when employing this tactic.

Use Flurry Rush

The Lynel is one of the most dangerous foes in Tears of the Kingdom, but even this looming behemoth is not impervious to dodges and parries.

If given the chance, dodge its charges and attacks with the intention of using Flurry Rush. This will reduce its health by a lot.

Aim For Its Head

If you want to engage it in long range combat, try to aim for the Lynel's head and shoot an arrow towards it. The Lynel will be staggered for a bit, which gives you an opportunity to counterattack.

Use an Aerocuda Eyeball to increase the accuracy of your arrow shots. Additionally, you could also use a Rocket Shield to launch yourself midair and shoot arrows in bullet time to give you more time for aiming your shots.

Summon Sages

If you're struggling against Lynels, summoning all Sages can help shift the tide of the battle! The sages deal chip damage, but the main thing here is getting the Lynel's attention away from you. This gives you enough time to heal up and ride the Lynel from behind to hit it and deal massive amounts of damage.
