It is possible to find the Treasure Octorok when exploring Faron Grasslands and Gerudo Highlands.

If you have a picture of the Treasure Octorok, you can set it as a target for your Sensor+, through the Compendium, to detect when one is nearby.

How to Beat the Treasure Octorok

Throw Elemental Chuchu Jellies or Shoot Arrows

Treasure Octorok
A Treasure Octorok will pop out of the ground once you get close to it or throw items on them from afar. When they jump out of the ground, throw a Red Chuchu Jelly, White Chuchu Jelly or Yellow Chuchu Jelly at them to instantly kill them.

You can also shoot arrows on them once they appear from the ground.

These particularly clever monsters bury themselves in deep sand or snow and disguise themselves as treasure chests. Anyone who approaches the chests is attacked. It is said that the treasure chests on their heads are actually parts of these monsters' bodies.
