The Climbing Gear is a Body Armor that players can equip in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Read on to learn the location and how to get the Climbing Gear, its defense stats, armor effects, as well as the required upgrade materials.

From the North Hyrule Plain, follow the road and head south. Before you reach the Carok Bridge, you will be able to see a small cave entrance to your left near the cliff.
Enter the North Hyrule Plain Cave and defeat the two Like Likes in the area.
Use the Ascend ability to go up to the second level of the cave and continue following the path.
Once you reach a bridge, look to your left and you will see a waterfall. Jump and glide towards the waterfall to enter the secret room behind it. Here, you will be able to see a chest that contains the Climbing Gear.

You can rebuy the Climbing Gear from Cece in Hateno Village for 700 Rupees after obtaining the armor beforehand in the game.
You must complete The Mayoral Election Side Adventure first before you can access Cece's shop, the Ventest Clothing Store.

The Climbing Gear is a Body Armor that has a base defense of 3.
Equipping the Climbing Gear will grant you the effect: Climb Speed Up.
It is a part of the Climbing Set, and wearing the whole set grants the Climbing Jump Stamina Up Set Bonus.
