The Star Fragment is a Material that you can fuse with weapons in the Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (TotK). Learn how to get Star Fragments and where to farm them, and how to use Star Fragments with all its possible fuse effects, armor upgrades, recipes, and buy and sell prices.

Star Fragments are mostly found in the locations: Random. Look around these locations to farm for Star Fragments.
Every night one Star Fragment will drop from the sky. Players can either catch it in mid air or collect it once it lands on the ground. Additionally, you can also get a Star Fragment without going mid-air. If you see a shooting star from a distance, following it will lead you to a Star Fragment.
You can also make a hard save the moment the Star Fragment hits the ground. This is a good way to remember the location in case you missed it.
Keep in mind that Star Fragments will only stay in the overworld until 5 AM. So make sure to dive down or land quick to pick it up if you're nearing close to hitting 5 AM.

Star Fragments can be Fused with weapons and shields, and can be attached to arrows. When fused, the Star Fragment increases attack power by 1, and other effects may vary depending on where you fuse them.
Fuse Guide: How to Combine Materials With Weapons, Arrows, and Shields
You can fuse a Star Fragments to your shield to create a makeshift lantern. This will help you light up a small area while walking without the need of a torch, making depths explorations much easier.
You can also use a Star Fragment to make a weapon that can shoot light beams. This is a good way to illuminate dark areas from a distant, especially when exploring caves or the depths. One swing with this fused weapon will shoot three orbs that can bounce around and light up any surfaces they touch.
Cooking with Star Fragments can increase the chances of Critical Cooking. This will increase the heart recovery of the dish and the duration of its extra effects. Key indicators of Critical Cooking are the upbeat music while cooking and Link's excitement after cooking.
