Uncut Support Gems are rewards you receive as you progress through the Campaign either as a form of compensation from notable characters, drops from Enemies, or a prize for visiting secret areas. Always look out for these guaranteed drops as they are imperative to progression.

Uncut Skill Gems are randomly dropped when defeating enemies. Higher level Uncut Skill Gems are dropped as you progress through the campaign and achieve higher levels.

Engrave with Gemcutting
Uncut Skill Gem is used by right-clicking it to open the Gemcutting menu and then engraving your chosen skill. Once engraved, the gem can then be equipped in your skill slots.
