The Grim Tangle Location Details

Fungus-Filled Area

The Grim Tangle is an area in Path of Exile 2 that can be accessed from The Grelwood after you've finished the quest Secrets in the Dark.

The place is infested with fungi, as well as enemies infected by them. Glowing yellow mushrooms on the ground explode on contact and leave a trail of poison. Do your best not to step on these pools of poison as it can sap your life quickly if you're not careful.

Enemies in The Grim Tangle are quite slow except for Fungal Artillery who are fast and can throw projectiles of poison at you. Take them out first when faced with a horde.

The boss of the area is The Rotten Druid. It doesn't move much but it can sprout anywhere in its arena and summon spikes from the ground that will swing at you. Try to avoid the roots that erupt from the ground and the spores in the middle to help you survive longer.

How to Get to The Grim Tangle

1	Go through The Riverbank and enter Clearfell Encampment.
2	Go to the northeast corner of the encampment and enter Clearfell.
3	Clearfell Look for the entrance to The Grelwood within Clearfell. Note that maps are randomly generated and this is only a sample layout meant as a general guide.
4	Enter The Grelwood.

The entrance to The Grim Tangle can be found in The Grelwood during Act 1. Go through The Grelwood and look for the entrance to The Grim Tangle, which can also be found near the area's waypoint somewhere in the center. The quest Secrets in the Dark must be finished to clear the roots preventing you from further exploring The Grim Tangle.

Go through The Grim Tangle to progress in the quest The Mysterious Shade.

At first, the path going deeper into The Grim Tangle is blocked by thick roots. After finishing the quest Secrets in the Dark, summon Una to clear these Roots. The area is a series of narrow tunnels that branch in different directions. The entrance to Cemetery of the Eternals can be found on the opposite end of the area. You may also encounter and fight The Rotten Druid.

It is important to note that the areas are randomly generated and that the maps used are meant to serve as a general guide to the map layout.

Be extra careful to not be in the middle of the boss area where the the Spores are. This small area not only has Spore Clouds that deal Chaos Damage and Slow you, but the Spore itself also explode when you get close.
