Invoked Shaddoll Deck Guide: How to Play

Playstyle and Win Condition

Fetch and Fuse Your Way to Victory

Invoked Shaddoll decks are incredibly efficient decks that maximize the synergies between three engines: Invocation (Aleister), Shaddoll, and Dogmatika. These engines can easily fetch the necessary cards for any scenario, allowing players to do timely Fusion summons to control the board and punish opponents who rely on Special summoned monsters.

Clear Boards and Stop Combos

This deck comes with a healthy amount of hand traps and spells that can help you bounce back into the game. Use these with fusion summons such as Invoked Mechaba and El Shaddoll Winda to prevent opponents from achieving their win conditions.

Core Combos and Interactions

Tri-Engine Opener

An opener that highlights the synergies of Invoked Shaddoll's three engines. This is possible if you have Aleister and Maximus on your opening hand and ends with a solid board with quick effect negates via Mechaba and Fleurdelis.

1 Summon Aleister the Invoker and activate it's effect to fetch Invocation. Summon Salamangreat Almiraj, then Secure Gardna afterward.
2 Activate Invocation to Fusion Summon Invoked Mechaba. Activate Dogmatika Maximus from the hand and banish Salamangreat Almiraj to special summon Maximus to the field.
3 Activate Dogmatika Maximus' on-board effect. Send El Shaddoll Apkalone and Titaniklad the Ash Dragon. Fetch Shaddoll Schism with Apkallone's graveyard effect and discard one card from your hand.
4 Set Shaddoll Schism on the board. Fetch Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted with Titaniklad's end turn effect.
Gems Tip! During the end phase, you can special summon one Ecclesia on the board with Titaniklad's effect, then use its on-board effect to fetch Fleurdelis instead if you prefer to have another monster on the board. You can also bait reactions and hand traps if Terraforming or Magical Meltdown are on-hand alongside Aleister.

Nadir Servant Combo

An efficient combo that allows you to fetch a number of key cards and populate the board with them by using only one card, Nadir Servant.

1 Activate Nadir Servant then send El Shaddoll Apkallone to the graveyard and fetch Dogmatika Maximus.
2 Activate Apkallone's graveyard effect to fetch Shaddoll Schism and discard it from your hand. Activate Maximus's on-hand effect to banish Apkallone.
3 Special summon Maximus after banishing Apkallone. Trigger Maximus' on-board effect then send El Shaddoll Construct and Titaniklad the Ash Dragon to the graveyard.
4 Activate El Shaddoll Construct's graveyard effect to fetch Shaddoll Schism. Set Schism on the board afterward.
5 Transition to end phase and special summon Dogmatika Ecclesia, the Virtuous. Activate Ecclesia's effect to fetch Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted.

How to Use Shaddoll and El Shaddoll Fusion

Shaddoll and El Shaddoll Fusion Tips
El Shaddoll Fusion Shaddoll Fusion These fusion cards are the lifeblood of your Shaddoll engine, allowing you to summon the necessary monsters from your extra deck to address any scenario. While the two of them achieve the same result, how these two do it is the key difference.
Shaddoll Fusion is best used whenever there is an opponent's extra deck monster on the board, as this allows you to tap into your deck for fusion materials.
El Shaddoll Fusion is only restricted to your hand and board in terms of fusion materials but it's important to note that it's a quick-play spell. This means you activate it during your opponent's turn if necessary. Plugging this during chain effects can ruin your opponent's plans and tip the board to your favor.

How to Use Super Polymerization

Super Polymerization Tips
Super Polymerization Super Polymerization is a strong quick-play spell that allows you to tribute your opponent's monsters for your own summoning! It's always good to use this in scenarios wherein an opponent has a key monster in-play that meets one of your boss monster's summoning requirements.

How to Use Shaddoll Schism

Shaddoll Schism Tips
Shaddoll Schism Schism is arguably your strongest card because on top of allowing you to summon during an opponent's turn, this card lets you send an opponent's monster with the same attribute as the one you summoned to the graveyard at the same time!
Remember that this card can be activated once per turn during either player's Main Phase. This also includes Main Phase 2.

Boss Monsters

El Shaddoll Construct
El Shaddoll Construct Shaddoll Construct is an amazing monster that instantly wins against any special summoned monster. This is extremely powerful in a meta where special summons are all over the place. It's ability to fetch Shaddoll spells and traps from the graveyard opens multiple combos that can sway the duel's outcome.
El Shaddoll Winda
El Shaddoll Winda Shaddoll Winda is a great floodgate that's protected from destroy effects and one of the best monsters to put on the board asap. Having this monster in-play early lets you dictate the pace of the match.
Invoked Mechaba
Invoked Mechaba Mechaba is another boss that can set the pace to your favor during the first few turns. An Invoked Shaddoll deck excels at card efficiency, which allows you to maintain a healthy hand at all times. This synergizes well with Mechaba as having one of each card type (Monster, Trap, Spell) lets it negate key effects from the opponent once per turn.
Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted
Dogmatika Fleurdelis, the Knighted Fleurdelis is another boss monster that helps maintain the advantage on the board — provided there's another dogmatika in play. Summoning Fleurdelis at the right time can swing the duel to your advantage and lead to an easy victory.

Budget Invoked Shaddoll: F2P Friendly

Lower Rarity Replacements

SR/UR Replacements
Salamangreat Almiraj Secure Gardna
Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden Invoked Caliga
Super Polymerization Fusion Substitute El Shaddoll Fusion
Infinite Impermanence Forbidden Chalice Dogmatika Punishment
Lightning Storm Mystical Space Typhoon

Most budget replacements for Invoked Shaddoll decks are limited to its spells, as other SR/UR cards within the list are too crucial to replace. You can opt to replace some of them for more copies of cards that are already in, like El Shaddoll Fusion.

As for the extra deck, take note that you can replace Almiraj and Secure Gardna with Artemis and Invoked Caliga instead. It is important to note that by doing this, the majority of your Tri-Engine Opener won't be possible — stopping at Mechaba's summoning.
