Exeggutor ex can be partnered up with Butterfree for even more HP recovery.
Butterfree's Powder Heal, Potion, and Erika can heal a total of 90 damage, invalidating Starmie's Hydro Splash and Pikachu's Circle Circuit.
The deck may lack damage output, however, outside of lucky heads flips with Tropical Swing, so it is important to keep Exeggutor ex in the fight longer than its opponents.

Venusaur ex can be partnered up with Weezing for its ability to tank damage, bounce back to hand with Koga, and deal passive damage with its Gas Leak Ability.
Weezing can comfortably sit in the Active Spot while Venusaur sets up on the Bench. The deck can afford to run both Grass and Darkness Energy from the Energy Zone since Venusaur ex's Giant Bloom's cost is not too restrictive, requiring only two Grass Energy.
