This is a guide on how to get the VS Vintar, a Sniper Rifle in STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl. Learn how to get the VS Vintar, where to upgrade it, and its stats such as damage, weight, and caliber.

How to Get the VS Vintar

Looted Inside a Tunnel in Zaton
You can pick up a VS Vintar inside a tunnel located northwest of Zaton. The tunnel is guarded by a Chimera so be prepared to fight. Once it's clear find the Sniper Rifle on a stash next to a corpse.
Buy from Ragman at Rostok Base
A VS Vintar can also be bought from Ragman at Rostok base in the Rostok region. He is found at the shed out front of the large building where the traders Birch and Eugene can also be found.
You can reach Rostok once you have earned access to checkpoint exits in the Lesser Zone. Depending on the checkpoints you exited, you can reach Rostok north of the Chemical Plant or west of Garbage (Slag Heap) regions.

There is a chance that the VS Vintar can appear in stock at Viktoria Dorozhnyuk's shop in STC Malachite. This location is to the west of the Zone past the Chemical Plant region. You can either bribe the guards or obtain a Malachite Pass to get inside the base.
High-Capacity VS Vintar Magazine Location
Inside a Bag Located East of the Swamps
An exclusive magazine for the VS Vintar can be found east of the Swamps region. This attachment doubles the ammo capacity of the weapon.
VS Vintar Compatible Attachments
Only the High-Capacity Magazine is Compatible
Despite tooltip text saying otherwise, the VS Vintar can only attach the High-Capacity VS Vintar Magazine. When equipped, this increases the total number of loaded bullets from 10 to 20. The optics of the VS Vintar cannot be modified.
How to Get High-Capacity VS Vintar Magazine
Default VS Vintar Scope Cannot be Unequipped

The tooltip descriptions of the POS 8X Scope and the PSO 4X Scope claim that they can be used to replace the default scope of the VS Vintar. However, at the time of writing, there is no way to replace the default scope attachment, rendering both scopes incompatible with the current version of the VS Vintar.
Where to Upgrade the VS Vintar
Upgrade at Screw in Rostok
The VS Vintar can be upgraded at the Technician Screw in Rostok. In Rostok, Screw's room can be found beside the same building of the traders Birch and Eugene, and is also near the room of your bed and stash.
