Get to the Energetik Palace of Culture

When you first arrive in Pripyat, you will receive two quest objectives: Find the coordinates for the entrance of the Foundation and Get to the Energetik Palace of Culture.

Follow the quest marker on the compass to reach the Energetik Palace of Culture and complete the latter objective.

Fight Off the Monolith Attack on the Energetik Palace of Culture

As soon as you approach the ruined community center, you'll hear Col. Degtyarev calling for support as a contingent of Monolith soldiers assault their building. Help the soldiers fight off the Monolithians to gain access to the last Military base in Pripyat.

Talk to Colonel Degtyarev

Once the path is clear proceed down the long hallway on the second floor of the Energetik Palace of Culture and speak to Colonel Degtyarev. You'll find him hunched over a planning table at the center of the room.

Note: This will be the only base in Pripyat that has acces to a Bed and Personal Stash. Make sure to rest and resupply here before doing anything else since the temporary bases set up by both the Ward and Spark factions will not have access to either feature.

Find the Coordinates for the Entrance to the Foundation

Colonel Degtyarev will tell you about the 2 potential leads that may reveal the entrance to the Foundation. Choose to find the intel at either the Laundromat or the Prometheus to complete this objective.

Choice Pros and Cons
Search the Laundromat Very easy since the Laundromat segment is basically platorming to dodge anomalies.
Pathing to each objective is relatively safe since you'll be using the main streets.
Chimera variant is very tough to fight solo, especially if you don't have good physical protection.
Find the archive inside the Prometheus Straightforward objectives. All you need to do is go from Point A to B while killing everything.
A lot of mutants to fight, which means using a lot of resources for very little in return by way of loot.
Increased equipment wear and tear before you can even reach the point of no return.

Note: Many of the enemies in Pripyat will be stronger than those found in the other areas of the Zone. Make sure to kit yourself out before leaving the Energetik Palace of Culture Base.

Search the Laundromat

If you opted to search the Laundromat for clues on the Foundation, head southeast of the Energetik Palace of Culture to reach the building. While doing so, try to stick to the main roads since skirting between buildings tends to make the game spawn enemies on top of you.

Your intel would have told you that the Laundromat is chock-full of anomalies. Use a detector and your bolt to navigate through the acid anomalies inside the building.

Find the Flash Drive Inside the Laundromat

Navigating the innards of the Laundromat requires a fair bit of patience and some practiced platforming. Take your time since there are no mutants in the area, anyway.

Start from the entrance and head left towards the stairs.

Throw a bolt towards the bubble and wait for all the smaller bubbles to disappear.

Climb up the stairs and enter the small hole to reach the next area.

Throw a bolt towards the bubble and jump over the toxic puddle on the right.

Enter the room with the white and brown door on the left while avoiding the toxic puddle beside it. This leads to a narrow hallway where you only need to enter to the room on the right.

Climb to the top of the stairs until you reach the top and find an open door that leads to the rooftop.

Once you reach the rooftop of the building, find the bubble anomaly behind the entrance to the rooftop.

Throw a bolt towards the bubble anomaly and enter the small window that you can enter inside to reach a new area.

Enter the green door at the front. The other green door on the left is locked and inaccessible.

Disable the bubble anomalies with the bolt and head left at the direction of the toxic puddle.

Jump over the toxic puddle and head to the open door on the left side of the wall.

Walk over the next toxic puddle and enter the hole on the brick wall.

Enter the first open room that you see on the right side.

Find the blue safe on the metal shelf and retrieve the "Flash Drive from the Laundromat" quest item. This should reveal the location of a helicopter crash site that contains the location of the Foundation entrances.

Retrieve the Data from the Helicopter Crash

With the intel secure, head northwest from the Laundromat to reach the Helicopter Crash Site. Similar to earlier, make sure to stick to the main roads to avoid the Monolithians that sometimes spawn inside the buildings. Before reaching the crash site make sure to Quicksave or Manually Save your game.

Your goal is to get the Flash Drive located at the center of the crash. It will be guarded by a very tanky Chimera. You can fight it head on if you have experience dealing with the mutant, or simply opt to nab the Flash Drive as quickly as possible before booking it into the nearest building.

Regardless of your choice, picking up the Flash Drive will trigger the next objective of the mission. Return to Degtyarev at the Energetik Palace of Culture to find out the locations of the Foundation entrances.

Find the Archive Inside the Prometheus

If you opted to search the Prometheus Theater for clues on the Foundation, head northeast of the Energetik Palace of Culture to reach the building. Cut across the Polissya Hotel's front to reach the Prometheus quickly (don't go through the building though since the Polissya is inhabited by a Controller).

Note: This route is full of mutant spawns. Prepare yourself for multiple fights against mutants including Psy Dogs, regular mutant Dogs, Bayuns, and even Bloodsuckers as you go through each objective.

Obtain the PDA of Major Gonzales

This route will take you to 3 locations across Pripyat: the Prometheus, the Department Store, and the Bookstore POIs. Your goal is to get the PDA with a Map of Pripyat Military Facilities from one Major Gonzales of the Ward.

Note: Inside the Prometheus, make sure you don't drop down the central room from the 2nd floor since a Pseudogiant will be waiting for you there. This fight is avoidable by simply exiting the building instead of dropping down.

Enter the front door of the building and turn left. Enter open door on the left side and climb up the stairs.

Kill the two Bayuns at the top of the stairs to gain access to the 2nd floor.

Once you reach the top of the stairs, head to the furthest room on the left.

Loot the body of Maj. Bushane and retrieve the Dead Warden's PDA from the Prometheus. Remember, don't drop into the hole next to the dead major since the Pseudogiant will be in there.

After picking up the Dead Warden's PDA, go back the way you came to exit the building before heading southwest to reach the next destination - the Department Store. You may encounter a random group of Psy Dogs and Bloodsuckers as you head towards the rendezvous point.

Upon arriving, you'll find that Monolith soldiers are in the store instead of the Ward. Kill the one guarding the entrance of the Department Store before heading inside.

Kill the rest of the Monolith soldiers inside the store. Wait for the quest objective to update before heading to the next destination, the Bookstore.

Head south from the Department Store to find the Bookstore. Head to the left side of the building and kill the zombie guarding the entrance.

Head to the open door on the left and kill all the reanimating zombies in this room. Aim for headshots to quickly put them down.

Go back to the entrance and head to the room right across it.

Enter the next room and kill the zombified Ward soldiers in exosuits, inside.

Find and loot the body of Major Gonzales to retrieve the PDA with a Map of Prypiat Military Facilities. Deal with the Controller and any remaining dogs and psy dogs before leaving since the the mutant dogs will chase after you.

Once you pick up the PDA of Major Gonzales the next mission objective will trigger. Return to Degtyarev at the Energetik Palace of Culture to find out the locations of the Foundation entrances.

Return to Degtyarev

Go back to the Energetik Palace of Culture and talk to Degtyarev. Finish the conversation with him to complete the mission and proceed to the next main mission, Down Below.
