Talk to Sidorovich

Enter the Shelter to Find Sidorovich

Head to the Rookie Village in Cordon and talk to Sidorovich. You can find him at his shop at the southern end of the village (enter it using the open bunker doors). Tell him you are looking for X3 then exhaust his dialogue options to continue.

Obtaining the Decoder
If Roosevelt is Alive If Roosevelt is Dead

The method for obtaining the Decoder depends on whether you let Roosevelt live or not during the Deal with the Devil mission.

If Roosevelt is alive, then you'll be able to negotiate with his bandits and avoid a fight. If he's dead, you'll have to kill the bandits and loot the Decoder from Roosevelt's corpse.

If Roosevelt is Alive

Get Decoder from Roosevelt

Follow the waypoint northeast of Rookie Village. If Roosevelt is alive, he will contact you via radio as you approach their position, informing you that he will let you in without retaliation from his men. Enter the building where Roosevelt is at and talk to him.

Tell Roosevelt that Sidorovich sent you and that you'd put in a good word for them if they gave you the Decoder without a fuss. Select the option, [Decoder] I'll pass your apology along, to receive the Decoder quest item.

If Roosevelt is Dead

Kill the Soldiers to Get the Decoder

If you killed Roosevelt in Deal with the Devil, he won't appear and you'll have no choice but to attack the settlement and loot the Decoder from one of the dead soldiers. The dead body with the Decoder will be marked on your map and compass after the fight.

Return the Cargo to Sidorovich

Show Decoder to Sidorovich

With the Decoder in hand, leave the area and return to Sidorovich in Rookie Village. Show him the Decoder to progress the mission.

Roosevelt will contact you afterwards if you managed to negotiate for the Decoder earlier. As thanks for not killing them, he will mark the coordinates of his Stash on your map that you can loot.

Ask the Local Stalkers About Lab X3

Talk to Wolf

There will be two Stalkers in Rookie Village that will be marked on your map. Look for the one named Wolf and then speak to him for information about Lab X3.

Find Dark's Camp

Tunnel to Dark

Leave Rookie Village and head east to find Dark's Camp. Follow the waypoint into a dark tunnel. A couple of guards will then halt you. Tell them you're looking for Dark and proceed on ahead.

As soon as you pass, the two guards behind you will immediately become hostile. Kill them before moving forward.

Kill the Mercs and Talk to Dark

Talk to Dark at his Camp

Proceed through the hallways of Dark's Camp and kill all the mercenaries lurking around. Once the mercenaries have been dealt with, talk to Dark and then show him the Decoder.

Take Dark's Loot

Take Dark

Leave Dark's Camp and follow your objective marker to a place called Electro-Tunnel. Enter the tunnel and use your Bolts to get past the electric anomalies. Dark's Loot will be located inside a broken conrete cylinder. Loot it and get the Quiet's Beacon.

Meet Up with Dark at the Rendezvous Point

Head to the Rendezvous Point in a forest. Enter the bunker through the door and proceed ahead to meet up with Dark.

Restore Power

Break the wooden planks on the ground beside Dark and then drop down to the sewage system. Follow the path until you reach a lab and then pull down the switch on the control panel to restore the power.

Unlock the Doors Using the Decoder

Use Decoder to Open Doors

Follow the tunnels and you'll find a large blast door at the end. Approach the terminal beside it and interact with it when the Use Card prompt appears to use the Decoder on it.

Eliminate the Snorks

Defeat the Snorks in the Tunnel

While the blast door is opening, defeat the pack of Snorks approaching your position. Afterward, you will have to use the Decoder again on the terminal to finally open the blast doors.

Help Dark

Navigate through the dark hallways and proceed down the catwalk into a room with dead soldiers.

Keep following your waypoint through some corridors. Your waypoint marker will frequently change positions to guide you on your way out.

In the lab, defeat the Bloodsucker that jumps you before pressing on.

Enter the door at the end of the lab and go past the electric anomalies after descending down the stairs.

Open the Way to Dark Using the Security Console

Use the Containers to Reach the Other Side

Use the Containers to Get to the Other Side

The bridge to the security console is broken and you will have to drop down to the containers below and jump from one container to another to get to the other side. Be careful not to fall as the ground is swarming with several electric anomalies.

Pull Down the Switch On the Security Console

After successfully reaching the security console, pull the switch and then go through the door behind you (the one with the red light).

Kill the Pseudogiant

Defeat the Pseudogiant Before Talking to Dark

Climb up the boxes and go through the hole and then fight the Pseudogiant on the other side of the room. Shotguns are ideally best used against Pseudogiants since they attack you in close-range.

Additionally, since they are fleshy, unarmored targets, you can switch to Hollowpoints (HP) to deal more damage at the cost of weapon durability. In-game, they are referred to as Expansive ammo (e.g., the 5.45X39mm MZHV-13 and 5.56x45mm HP).

Talk to Dark

Confront Strelok

Speak to Dark after defeating the Pseudogiant. A cutscene will trigger where you two will enter through a nearby door and encounter Strelok. Speak to Strelok and exhaust all dialogue options with him.

Find the Cartridge and Leave the Facility

Get Cartridge from House

Follow your waypoint out of the room. Along the way, you'll find an Exoskeleton on a table, pick it up and proceed ahead. Use the elevator to return back to the surface and enter the house at the middle of the field. Approach the device and get the Cartridge.

Strelok will talk to you outside of the house and this will then trigger the Subtle Matter mission.

Pseudogiants actually have an armor rating of 4.0, so you should use armor-piercing rounds, not hollow points.
