Fast Travel will remain locked until you manage to find at least 1 more base after Zalissya in the Lesser Zone. The best base to unlock after Zalissya will be Slag Heap in Garbage since a lot of the early game main missions will have you returning to this location.
Once you gain access to Slag Heap, you'll be able to start fast traveling between Slag Heap and Zalissya. Set your sights on unlocking Rostok next if you really want to have a good set of bases to fast travel between.
Similar to the previous games of the STALKER franchise like Call of Pripyat and Clear Sky, you can fast travel by talking to a Guide, paying them a fee in Coupons (K), and telling them the location that you want to go to.
Guides will only be available in Bases and they'll only be able to ferry you to other Bases across the Zone. You will not be able to fast travel to specific locations other than Bases.
All Guide Fast Travel Point Locations
Guides will not be able to take you to places you haven't been to. You'll first have to get to each of the Bases on the map before you can fast travel to them later in your playthrough. Do note that depending on your faction reputation, some bases will be unavailable to you if you have bad relations with the owners.
The price that you need to pay for fast travelling depends on how far your destination is from the Guide. The farther the fast travel point is, the more Coupons you'll need to shell out.
Make sure everything is set before heading out as frequent uses can burn a hole in your pocket! With how the prices go up fast in the game, you'd want to make sure you've accomplished all the tasks you need to do before talking to a Guide and teleporting away.
Fast travelling via Guides and walking are your only means of exploring the world of STALKER 2. There are no drivable vehicles that you can use within The Zone even if the side mission, Car for Sale has you "buy" one.
Even the Guides won't risk their lives going outside during an Emission. While this deadly phenomenon is happening, fast travel is disabled and you'll have to wait it out before any Guide agrees to take you to your destination.
After the SIRCAA arc of the main story, an event occurs in Zalissya that changes up the available NPCs in the town. Without revealing any spoilers, the Guide in Zalissya will change locations, removing the ability to fast travel to and from the settlement.
If you antagonize the Ward faction during any of the main or side missions and they turn hostile, you will lose access to fast travel in the Chemical Plant. The small shack that houses the Guide (just outside the perimeter wall) will remain locked, preventing you from using their services while the Ward are hostile to you.
Chemical Plant Base Map Location
During the main story, you'll have several interactions based in this location. Depending on the outcome of these events, you'll either retain access to the settlement or lose access to it by way of the faction turning hostile.
If they do turn up hostile after you've discovered the settlement, you'll only be able to fast travel to STC Malachite. However, using the Guide to fast travel away from it will not be possible while they are hostile.
STC Malachite Base Map Location
Region | Nearest Base You Can Fast Travel From |
---|---|
Swamps | Sultansk |
Burnt Forest | Chemical Plant |
Yantar | Rostok |
Duga | STC Malachite |
Red Forest | Yaniv Station |
Cooling Towers | Cement Factory |
Some regions in the Zone won't be accessible through fast travel as they have no Guides or settlements. When planning to visit the above locations, make sure you prepare accordingly since the walk back to safe territory will be long and arduous.
