| Getting to Wild Island turned out to be far more difficult than I anticipated as the Noontiders are extremely suspicious of outsiders. The only way to get to the Island entails retrieving and delivering an important shipment, since the Noontiders assigned to transport it have gone missing. | |
A Heavy Burden side mission will only unlock if you don't show the Unusual PDA to Dr. Dalin and Col. Korshunov, and if you talk to Scar at the Sawmill during the Back to Slag Heap main mission.

Head south from the Sawmill and find the spot where the Noontiders last made contact. You will encounter some boars once you get there.
Get the Cargo for Noontide surrounded by rocks near the water and a corpse. Take it to Wild Island once you get it.
Head to the Wild Island to deliver the Cargo for Noontide. A Bloodsucker will spawn on the way to Wild Island, so be sure to prepare tons of medkit and ammo to eliminate it.
Conitnue following the marker until you meet Stone at the gate. Show him the Cargo for Noontide to get permission to walk inside.
Take the cargo to Prof. Lodochka. You should be to find him inside a fortress-looking structure.
You should tell him you're looking for Strider after delivering the cargo to help you with the Hot on the Trail main mission.
