Shoot the Moving Glowing Orbs

Shooting Poltergeist Orbs

The only way of killing Poltergeists is to shoot the moving glowing orbs, which are the controllers of the telekinetic attacks. These orbs can differ in color depending on their element — They can have a blue (or translucent color), red, green, or white glow.

Sometimes, the poltergeists will be out of sight and you will have to find them, especially when the they are indoors. They have a distinct whoosing sound when they are close.

Shoot the Floating Objects

Shooting the Telekinetic Attacks

The Poltergeists will damage you by throwing objects around you with their telekinesis. Once you see floating objects, shoot them to cancel their attack. You can also hear a faint but distinct twinkling audio queue and a glowing light around the object when it is floating and ready to be thrown at you.

Taking a hit from a Poltergeist attack will put your health down to where you will be one hit away from dying. Make sure to stock up on heals and heal immediately when you take damage from a Poltergeist.

Take Cover from the Telekinitic Attacks

Hiding from Telekinetic Attacks

You can also just take cover from telekinetic attacks by hiding behind an object. This is a good alternative to shooting the floating objects if you feel like you do not have enough time to aim, shoot, and cancel the Poltergeist attack.
