Types of Anomalies

Anomaly Details
Burner This anomaly appears as small flames on the ground. Once triggered, they become firespouts.
Electro This anomaly appears as sparks coming off the ground and nearby objects. Once triggered, it explodes into a surge of electricity.
Vortex This anomaly appears as a near-invisible time-space bubble. Once triggered, it sucks in space and spits it out, dealing damage.
Springboard This anomaly appears a bunch of leaves moving in a circle. There are two in close proximity in this area. Once triggered, it becomes a small tornado that stuns you and then damages.
Fruit Punch This anomaly appears as toxic puddles that release fumes that deplete your health. Once triggered, they release bubbles so you can safely pass through.
Gas Bubble This anomaly appears as giant toxic bubbles that slowly creep towards you. Once triggered, they burst into smaller bubbles that are stationary, they will still inflict acid damage if you get caught near them.
Gas Cloud This anomaly appears as green concentrated gas clouds that are stationary. Once triggered, they deal acid damage and then dissipate. It takes 3 bolts to trigger this anomaly.
Flashbang This anomaly manifests as a bright flash of light accompanied by an explosion. Highly unpredictable, and cannot be disarmed with the Bolt.
►How to Beat Flashbang Anomaly
Tesla This is an Electro anomaly that appears as a ball of lightning patrolling a set path. The Tesla is attracted to artifacts, so it will chase you if you have one equipped or will travel to one on the ground to consume it.
Glass Shards This anomaly manifests as a gravitational field of floating glass shards. It can be spotted from afar by the sparkles it emits. Passing through this spot will cause damage and the Bleed status effect. You can prevent damage by walking through them. Note that this will still damage your armor's durability.
Flycatcher This is a nearly invisible anomaly (only spotted through sound and distortion) that causes anything that passes through it to be slowed down. It will also distort your vision when you pass through it. Otherwise, it is harmless.
Teleporter This anomaly can manifest either as a giant floating orb or one of the smaller bluish orbs in the Zone. Going into it will teleport you to a different spot, sometimes that spot leading to a stash with a valuable item.

Anomalies Explained

Beginner's Guide

Hazardous Areas Containing Artifacts

Finding an Artifact in an Anomaly

Anomalies are hazardous phenomena occupying different areas of the Zone and they often contain Artifacts. These Artifacts are highly valuable since they give bonuses such a Radio Protection and other various form of stat boosts when equipping.

Artifacts also have very valuable Coupon selling prices, making them a good source of profit in the Zone. Artifacts can be farmed and will respawn in these areas after a set amount of time.

Detectors Alert Nearby Artifacts

Using a Detector to Find Anomalies

One of the main uses of a Detector is to find nearby Artifacts in anomalies. When near one, the Detector will start beeping – one that is distinct from your anomaly detector.

You can change your Detector for better versions of it as you progress in the game. For example, the Bear Detector will make it easier for you to locate the direction of an artifact since it has compass-like display.

Bolts are Used to Trigger Anomalies

Most anomalies are not easy to spot (such as gravitational anomalies). For this reason, we throw Bolts to reveal and pinpoint their exact location.

Bolts can also be used to trigger anomalies so that you can safely pass through them when they are in cooldown. This is best used against the Vortex and Electro anomalies, for example.

Arch Anomalies Hold Unique Rewards

Arch Anomalies, or Anomalous Areas, are unique anomalies that can be found in the Zone. They occupy fixed locations and may sometimes be several times larger than common anomalies.

Unique items, such as legendary artifacts, may be found in these anomalies, so make sure to keep an eye out whenever you are near one!
