Some technicians cannot install upgrades since they lack the expertise to do so in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Read on to learn what to do when a technician cannot install an upgrade for your weapons and armor.

How to Fix Technician Cannot Install This Upgrade

Go to a Technician with Higher Expertise

Technician Cannot Install Upgrade

If you see the “The technician cannot install this upgrade” message, it just means the technician you're working with is not skilled enough to apply the upgrades for your armor or weapon.

You will have to visit a different technician with higher expertise such as Diode in Slag Heap or other technicians that you'll meet as you explore each region in the game.

Visit Harpy at Yaniv Station to Install All Upgrades

Stalker 2 - Harpy Location

Visit Harpy at Yaniv Station if you're looking for a technician who can install all upgrades without any limitations. After completing the Behind Seven Seals mission, you can already go to the Yaniv region to visit her shop.

She can also install Sprint modules for Exoskeletons. However, for the non-variant Exoskeleton, you will first need to install an Aramid Helmet from technician Screw in Rostok before Harpy can upgrade it with a Sprint module.
