Lower the Gun or Fire

Lower the Gun or Fire is a major story choice during the Last Wish main mission in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Read on to find out if you should choose Lower the Gun or Fire, and learn how each choice affects the ending of the game.

The Last Wish Choice
Choice Effect
Lower the Gun Locks you into the Kaymanov Ending.
Locks you out of Strelok's Ending.
Fire Locks you into the Strelok Ending.
Locks you out of Kaymanov's Ending.

During the main mission, Last Wish, Strelok sends you to confront the Doctor one last time in the Red Forest. By choosing Lower the gun, you lock yourself into getting the Kaymanov Ending for STALKER 2. Choosing Shoot, on the other hand, locks you into getting the Strelok Ending.

Note: In order to arrive at this mission and choice, you will need to have answered Life is for the living during Subtle Matter and Escape during Dangerous Liaisons.

Should You Choose Lower the Gun or Fire?

Lower the Gun if You Want to Side with Kaymanov

Sparing the Doctor

If you want to get the Kaymanov Ending, this is your last chance to get it. Choose to Lower the gun and spare the Doctor to fully lock yourself into the Kaymanov route. This will alter the final 2 missions of the game. Do note that this option will have you fight Strelok in a boss fight.

Fire if You Want to Side with Strelok

Killing the Doctor

If you want to get the Strelok Ending, this is your last chance to get it. Choose to Fire and kill the Doctor to move on to the next part of the Last Wish where you reunite with Strelok atop the Red Fortress.
