Acquire Suit with High Psi-Protection (Optional)

Before proceeding with the Ad Astra per Aspera mission, it is recommended to equip a suit with high Psi-Protection to protect you from dizzying effects caused by the psi-beacons during the mission.

A SEVA Suit or the Cuirass Exoskeleton will offer decent Psi-Protection; enough to complete this optional objective before you head to the Swamp.

How to Get Suits with High Degree of Psi-Protection

Disable the First psi-beacon (Burnt Farmstead)

Approach the first psi-beacon at the Burnt Farmstead located north of the Swamps region. You can find the psi-beacon on top of a wooden watchtower. The area will be infested with dogs and hostile soldiers and it may be best to clear out the area before deactivating the psi-beacon.

Disable the Second psi-beacon (Old Church)

Go to the Old Church and Kill the Bayun

The second psi-beacon is located inside the Old Church, northeast of the Swamps region. Once you arrive, take out the Bayun inside the church first before anything else.

Go to the Roof of the Church

1 Destroy the Floorboard
Near the windows, you'll find a yellowish floorboard that can be destroyed. Break it by using your knife. Once destroyed, drop down and then follow the path up ahead. You should see a wooden ramp that leads up to another room of the church.
2 Jump to the other platform
Climb up the barrels and then from the wooden platform you're standing on, jump towards the platform on the other side.
3 Exit to the Roof of the Church
Exit through the opening that leads to the roof.

Enter the Window and Deactive psi-beacon

Go Through the Church

Once at the roof, go through the window and then approach the psi-beacon. Interact with it to deactivate it. Do be careful as you might accidentally fall down as there are holes on the floor.

Disable the Third psi-beacon (Pumping Station)

Travel South Towards the Pumping Station

Head south towards the third psi-beacon. It will be located at the Pumping Station in the marshlands. The place is filled with soldiers and a Controller so proceed with caution.

Go Up the Tower to Deactivate the psi-beacon

Deactivate the Third psi-beacon

You can find the psi-beacon on top of the tower. Use the ladders and wooden ramps to go up to it.

Disable the Fourth psi-beacon (Second Vanguard)

The fourth psi-beacon will be located on top of a watchtower at the Second Vanguard, also to the south. Climb up the ladder beside the broken down tank, and you'll find the psi-beacon once you get on top.

Find Faust

Pass Through the Warren Shack and Avoid the Chimera

Pass Through the Warren Shack

Follow the waypoint to the Warren Shack. Along the way, you'll encounter a Chimera, an extremely tough mutant with lots of HP. Running straight towards the shack is a better option than fighting it, since an Emission will also arrive and chances are you'll either die from the Emission or the Chimera if you don't hurry to the shack.

Reach the Clear Sky Base

Clear Sky Base Shelter

Continue on ahead to the Clear Sky Base (also marked on your map) and enter the door that leads to the shelter. You'll have to hurry up, since an Emission will pass by.

Meet Up with Faust

Meeting Up with Faust

Proceed through the tunnels and you'll find Faust. Wait for the cutscene to finish to end the mission. After the cutscene will receive a unique pistol called Deadeye, as well as the lost TOPAZ Scanner you were using during There and Back Again.

Leave the Clear Sky Base and the Swamp

After gathering the Scanner, leave the Clear Sky Base and start making your way out of the swamp. This starts the next main mission, Extreme Simplicity.
