Discover the Location of the Root Cellar with the Orthodox Icon

Head to the Root Cellar Directly

Go to Poppy Fields by going northwest until you reach the field near the river. You must cross the field filled with drowsing red flowers until you reach the Root Cellar. You can bring at least two Energy Drinks to prevent yourself from sleeping and dying as you cross.

If you want the Root Cellar Location to be marked on your own map, follow the steps below. If not, skip to the next objective, which is finding Mityay's Orthodox Icon.

Pay or Help Pomor for Info

Enter the house near the red flowers in the Poppy Fields and talk to Pomor. You can ask him information about the Root Cellar location by paying Coupons or collecting guns and ammo for him.

You will need 2000 Coupons if you want to pay, or loot the five corpses around Poppy Field to get the cellar location.

Find Mityay's Orthodox Icon

Head inside the Root Cellar and take the Icon on the shelf on the left. You can also loot other items inside the cellar before you leave.

Return or Trade the Icon

You can trade the Icon to Pomor for a unique AR416 or return it to Mityay for Coupons.

You can also trade it first to Pomor and then kill him to get the weapon and the icon back and give it to Mityay to get all the rewards.

Return the Icon to Mityay

You can follow the main reason for getting the Orthodox Icon and return it to Mityay. Giving the Orthodox Icon to Mityay will net you 1000 Coupons, and you will be able to see it displayed on their family grave.

Trade the Icon to Pomor

You can get the Unknown Stalker's AR416 from Pomor if you decided to trade the Orthodox Icon from him. The weapon has decent stats, but the durability is almost depleted. This means you have to spend Coupons if you want to repair and use it.

Trade the Icon, Kill Pomor, and Return to Mityay

There is one way to get the weapon from Pomor and the coupon from Mityay. You will need to trade the Icon first to get the weapon, and then kill and loot Pomor to get back the Icon. After that, bring the Icon to Mityay to get the Coupon reward.

You can also loot a key from Pomor to unlock his room filled with different items you can grab before returning to Mityay.

Mission Description
An Orthodox icon for the price of an artifact! Mityay, a stalker who used to live here before the disaster of '86, wants to get his family heirloom back. He left it in an old root cellar somewhere in the Poppy Field. That place has a knack for putting folks to sleep, he says, so retrieving the icon won't be easy.

Completion Rewards

You can get a set Coupon reward depending on the difficulty of your playthrough if you return the Icon to Mityay. You can also trade the Icon to Pomor to get the Unknown Stalker's AR416.

Normally, you can only choose between the Coupon or the weapon reward. However, if you trade the Icon to Pomor and kill him, you can get the traded weapon and the Icon to give to Mityay and get the Coupon reward.
