PC Players Can Drag the Item to the Quick Access Slots

On PC, you can open your inventory with the I key and simply drag the items you want quick access to down to one of the four slots below the Equipment window.

Xbox Players Need to Remove Quick Access Items First

For Xbox, you'll have to hover on the item you want quick accessed then press the Start button (instead of the usual A button), select Quick Access, and place it on a Quick Access slot.

How to Use Quick Access Items

Press or Hold the Assigned Button

Items assigned to the quick access slots can be used by pressing the corresponding key or button. A quick tap uses the items in the first and third slots, while holding the key or button uses the second and fourth items.

Change Keybinds in the Settings

You can remap the Quick Access keys or buttons through the Options menu by going to the Controls tab. Open the Keyboard Settings (on all caps) bar and scroll all the way down to the Interact section to change the Quick Access keybinds.
