Sleep is the fastest way to pass the time and progress the day-night cycle in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Learn how to sleep and its other effects in this guide!
List of Contents
You can let Skif sleep by looking for an open bed, usually found in Stalker Camps and Bases, and interacting with it.
The game won't let you sleep until all of your status ailments are removed either. You'll need to cleanse all active status ailments first with the necessary recovery items before you can access a bed.
Another bad news is that even if you just ate and removed the Hunger status before sleeping, you will be hungry again after waking up. There's really no point in sleeping in this game unless you want to skip to morning.
All Status Conditions and Cures
Hunger will still accumulate even while you're sleeping, so it's likely that you'll wake up with the Hunger status almost full. Be sure to eat something right away after waking up as Hunger can hinder your movement.
Sleeping also skips time in the game to morning, which is useful if you're not comfortable exploring in the dark. Visibility is almost zero in most areas at night, especially if you haven't set the right brightness setting and have your flashlight turned off.
Day-Night Cycle Differences Explained
Sleep will remove Skiff's fatigue, which you will get if you go too long without sleeping. This is indicated by a moon icon that appears on the lower left of your UI, where you also find the hunger and encumbered icons.
When you have fatigue, Skiff yawns, and his vision turns dark occasionally.
Other than that, not sleeping does not affect Skiff in any other negative ways. If you find Skiff yawning and closing his eyes occasionally, you might want to sleep. But it will not be a life-or-death decision.
