How to Leave the Lesser Zone
Complete Behind Seven Seals
The other regions are still locked when you complete the prologue. Most of your earlier missions will be in the Lesser Zone, but unlocking the other regions requires completing Behind Seven Seals. This mission is particularly long and spans a few side missions that will have you exploring more and more of the Lesser Zone.
A Needle in a Haystack determines where you exit
In the middle of Behind Seven Seals, you must complete A Needle in a Haystack. In this mission you must make a choice to determine where you exit from the Lesser Zone. You must choose between Richter and Captain Zotov who gets the Ward Sensors. Once you made your choice, the mission ends and you will be able to explore outside the Lesser Zone.
| Choice | Outcome |
|---|---|
| Choose Richter | Giving the Ward Sensors to Richter prevents the Wardens from cracking down on the stalkers in Zalissya. Siding with Richter has you exit via the North Checkpoint and you can immediately continue with the main missions in the Garbage region. |
| Choose Captain Zotov | Giving the Ward Sensors to Zotov aligns you with the Ward faction, and you will henceforth embark on quests for the Ward. Siding with Zotov has you exit via the Western Checkpoint and land in the Chemical Plant region. This would play a different set of missions on your to the Garbage region to continue the main story. |
