How to Get More Ammo

Find Safes and Backpacks

Find Safes and Backpacks

The best way to get more ammo is to find them from safes, boxes, and backpacks. You can find these in abandoned buildings or areas with bandits.

Loot Corpses and Unload Enemy Guns

Unload Enemy Guns

Enemies you kill may have a chance of having ammo in their inventory when you loot them. Note that the game will not pause when you are in the inventory screen, so be sure to kill all enemies in the vicinity before looting.

Make sure to also unload the enemy's gun to get the ammo from it. The ammo in the gun is separate from the ammo found in the corpse's inventory.

Break Ammo Boxes

These green breakable boxes may also contain ammo as well. You will need to break them, preferably with a melee weapon, to obtain the contents inside.

Purchase Ammo from Traders

Ammo from Traders

You can also purchase ammo from traders in base camps. They carry different ammo types, depending on the trader, making them a good option to get ammo if you are running out.

It is advisable to save your money in weapon and armor repairs as you can find ammo through exploration.
