Escape the Swamps

Keep heading north and follow the marker on your PDA Map and Compass through the marshy area until you escape the Swamps. The mission will progress once Strider radios you and tells you to go to the Ranger Station.

Get to the Ranger Station

Go further north until you arrive at the Ranger Station. Once you get there, head up to the second floor until you come across Scar and Strider to progress the mission.

Help Deal with the Ward Soldiers or the Sparkers

After you speak to Scar and Strider, the Ranger Station will be attacked by Ward soldiers. You'll have the choice of helping the Ward soldiers or helping Scar's Sparkers.

While seemingly important, this choice does not matter in the grand scheme of things since it will not affect your faction reputation all that much, nor will it affect any endings you can get for the game. You do get a few coupons though for helping either side.

Should You Side with Ward or Sparkers?

Get to SIRCAA

Finally, after dealing with the Ward or Spark troops, head northwest until you get to SIRCAA (it should be marked on your PDA map and Compass). This'll be quite a long trek, so be wary of Mutants, Anomalies, and hostile Stalkers that you might encounter along the way.

Once you arrive at SIRCAA, the main mission, A Long Overdue Visit, will begin.
