STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl

Reputation System Explained

The Reputation System measures your relationship with the factions in STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. Learn more about the Reputation System, what it affects, and how to increase or decrease it in this guide!

What is the Reputation System?

Affects Relationship with Factions

The Reputation System determines how each of the Faction Bases treat you as you progress the story. A good reputation with a faction allows you to use their Base as a safe area while you explore the Zone. A bad reputation causes them to attack you on sight, making their Base unusable.

Possibly Tied to Different Endings

With the confirmation from the devs that the game will have at least three different endings, it is possible that even your reputation with the factions will play a part in determining the ending that you will get, along with the dialogue choices that you make.

How to Increase Reputation

Increasing Reputation

Complete Missions for the Faction

Aiding other stalkers and completing the missions they give are the main methods of increasing your reputation with their faction.

Kill Enemy Faction Members

Some main missions and side missions will task you to kill members of a faction. While you may gain reputation with the quest-giving faction for the contract, you'll most likely lose the other's trust, resulting in poor reputation with the opposing faction.

Avoid Killing Hostile Faction Members

If you manage to reach an extremely bad reputation with a faction so that its members start attacking you, try to avoid encounters with any of its members to stop lowering your reputation with them any further. Avoiding conflicts with hostil factions will allow you to slowly regain lost reputation with them over time.

However, this can only take you so far as they will still treat you with hostility, You can earn their trust back by negotiating with the faction's leaders.

What Decreases Reputation?

Decreasing Reputation

Failing Missions for the Faction

Failing tasks given to you by a faction member can lower your reputation with them. When this happens and you want to obtain the rewards or simply want to change the outcome, you can reload an earlier save for a retry.

Killing Faction Members

Needless to say, killing members of a faction also decreases your reputation. This happens even if they attacked you first due to certain reasons like having an already bad reputation with them. Killing them will result in their Base becoming unusable to you.
