Hunk is unlocked as a playable character by getting Rank A or higher in any stage while playing as Krauser. Getting Rank A requires a score of at least 100,000.
How to Get S++ Rank

Hunk can defeat all enemies, including elites such as Chainsaw Man and Brute (Minotaur), with a single blow using the melee execution. In addition, when you attack the enemy's legs and they flinch, the melee execution will change to kick
or palm strike
, which is good to use when surrounded by a lot of enemies.
It's good to remember that if you use melee execution on a Ganado, their Plaga will not be exposed. This is important since Hunk doesn't come with any flash grenades that can help wipe out exposed Plagas easily.

Hunk's Mayhem Mode is an unrivaled ability that allows him to have infinite ammo. When this ability is active, you can deal continuous damage without thinking about reload.

Hunk's weakness is being surrounded by enemies without his mayhem ability, infinite ammo. The trick is to make good use of other options such as the hand grenades or melee execution when you are surrounded.

Hank's recommended stage is the Village. He is strong against the enemies that spawn in that area including elite enemies such as Chainsaw Man and Brute (Minotaur). Hank is unrivaled when it comes to clearing the Village.

Enemies that are formidable counters to Hunk appear in both the Castle and Island stages. In the Castle, you have the Garrador and Armored Garrador who can't be taken out by melee execution. In both the Castle and the Island, there are shielded enemies who can completely repel submachine gun attacks.
If you want to clear those stages without breaking the combo with Hunk, the trick is to make good use of hand grenades.

Hunk's Mayhem Mode is unleashed by pressing L3 + R3 / LS + RS at the same time. During Mayhem Mode, Hunk gains infinite ammo until the Mayhem gauge depletes. You will be able to hold down the fire button and shoot continuously with Hunk's submachine gun without needing to reload.
Hunk's Mayhem Mode is best used against tough enemies. Hunk's only gun is his submachine gun, so it is the best and only way to defeat tough, bullet-spongy enemies and mini-bosses. Activating infinite ammo will allow you to quickly mow down these difficult enemies, plus any regular enemies that are hanging around while the ability is still active.
Hank's melee execution is powerful enough to defeat elite enemies such as Chainsaw Man and Brute (Minotaur) in a single blow. However, unlike Leon's and Luis' melee execution, it cannot involve multiple enemies.
