Jack Krauser was Leon's partner during their mission to take down the drug lord Javier, from an operation related to Umbrella. They worked together to fight off human enemies as well as tons of monsters along the way.
Jack obtained a serious arm injury during their mission, which made him think that he was now useless in the US military, so he decided to side with Albert Wesker in hopes that he might help him regain his strength.
These events took place in Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles, a rail shooter game of the franchise, and are merely alluded to in Resident Evil 4.

Jack encountered Leon in Salazar's Castle who was trying to save Ashley. However, it was not a friendly reunion as Jack tries to kill Leon. Jack was hired by Wesker to infiltrate the Los Iluminados, and was subsequently hired by the cult to kidnap Ashley Graham.
Your first combat encounter with Jack will be a knife fight utilizing the game's melee combat mechanics. This is a major difference from the original where the fight was only composed of QTE's.
The succeeding combat encounters with Krauser remain the same but with the remake's updated mechanics.
Jack has a new plain blue trouser design in Resident Evil 4 Remake. His trouser in the original RE4 has a mud and grass-colored camouflage design.
Aside from his pants, there are no other changes to his appearance. He's still wearing a black military shirt and a red cap. His body build is also still the same.
