How to Kill Dos Gigantes |
---|
|
This encounter is designed to prioritize the armorless Gigante first, players can shoot its face or its Plaga with a shotgun or a pistol until it lies prone on the ground; during this time, players can get a climb prompt to repeatedly stab the Plaga on the armorless Gigante to deal significant damage. Players can repeat this strategy until it's dead.
How to Beat El Gigante (The Giant)
After bringing down the Armorless Gigante, players need to survive the encounter with the Armored Gigante for a time while waiting for Luis. After some time, Luis will reappear in a cutscene where he puts a stack of dynamites on the Armored Gigante's back.
We highly recommend shooting the dynamites when the Armored Gigante is in the middle of the area to bring it down, once it's down go to the switch and open the Lava Pit to kill the Armored Gigante.
How to Beat Armored El Gigante
You can buy time for Luis to get the explosives and avoid getting smashed by the Armored Giant using the trap door switch. Hold it for 2 seconds and the giant will start running to the side. Then wait for another 2-3 seconds before holding it again.
Repeat it until Luis calls out Leon and lure the giant to his side!
It's possible to drop both the regular El Gigante and Armored El Gigante into the lava. You can start with the armorless giant first then drop the armored one once you stagger it by shooting the dynamites behind its back.
However, note that you won't get any treasure rewards for dropping them into the lava.
You can stun and drop them onto their knees by dealing enough damage and shooting the Plaga on their backs. You can then open the metal door to the lava pit to kill them! It will be hard to drop them both at once, so do it on the regular giant first and then the armored one next.
Note that it's impossible to drop them into the lava pit if they're not stunned. They know if you're gonna activate the trap door and then run to the side to avoid it.
Flash Grenade can easily stun the armorless El Gigante with a direct hit. You can then open the trap door and make him fall into the lava for an instant kill.
Difficulty Differences and How to Change
After you get rid of the armorless El Gigante, wait for Luis to get the dynamites and throw them on the back of the Armored El Gigante. You have to lure Armored El Gigante to Luis's side so he can put it there. Shoot the Dynamite then and open the pit for an easy kill.
In Chapter 11, you can immediately defeat the Dos Gigantes at the same time if you have an RPG. Use it to shoot the unarmored giant. The blast will affect the armored giant, killing them both. This does not work if you shoot the armored giant instead.
