One way to massively damage Salazar and quickly end his 1st phase is by throwing a Gold Chicken Egg directly at his main body. Throwing another Gold Chicken Egg at him will fully defeat him.
Note that the Gold Chicken Egg does little to no damage to other enemies so it's best to save them for Salazar.

The best weapons to use for this fight are weapons with fast fire rates to make it easier to hit Salazar's weak spots. Any automatic or semi-automatic gun, like TMP, Stingray, and CQBR, is highly recommended to follow Salazar's movements.
Salazar's body is hidden inside the monster's mouth. Players can shoot Salazar's body whenever the monster spits acid. Dealing enough damage to Salazar's body will cause the monster to fall, leaving Salazar open for a melee prompt.
Dealing enough damage to Salazar causes the monster to fall, allowing players to do a melee prompt on Salazar's eye. This deals huge damage and is a key mechanic for this boss fight.
Use the staircase on the side with the pillar as your hiding and shooting spot, as it has a lot of covers you can use to avoid getting hit by Salazar. You can also prevent Salazar from performing his instant death attack, which is the Chomping Attack.
You can find this location on the left side when the battle starts.
If you run out of resources, you can try shooting the Acid Pods placed by Salazar on the stage. They sometimes contain ammo, Gunpowders, and Green Herbs. Just make sure to keep some distance as they can explode and damage you.

Salazar spits a black acidic substance towards Leon either vertically or horizontally, avoid this by running sideways for the vertical spit and crouching for the horizontal spit. He can also spit acid like a shotgun shot, which you can avoid by using the covers in the area.
Throughout the area, there will be black goo-like pods lying on the ground, which will explode when Leon is in proximity. Avoid this by shooting the pods from afar.
If Leon is close enough the monsterized Salazar will attempt to chomp Leon, avoid this attack by keeping your distance. It will kill Leon instantly, so dodge and run away from this attack at all times!
