You can skip multiple story beats and boss fights in Resident Evil 4 Remake (RE4). Learn about all skips and story shortcuts in order to help you speedrun the game!

Skip First Village

During the first village fight, if you shoot the Church bells south of the village with a sniper rifle, the cutscene wherein the villagers evacuate the area will trigger much earlier than if you fought out the whole sequence.

Farm: Get Wooden Cog Fast

In the Farm, you can throw a Hand Grenade through the window into the room with the Wooden Cog. This will break open the lock from the inside, which allows you to simply walk in and get the Wooden Cog, without having to go through long way.

Skip Chainsaw Sisters Fight

Note: This only works on Assisted, Standard, and Hardcore difficulties.

Update 4/23: This scope glitch has been fixed as of the Ver. 1.05 update and will no longer work.

You can skip the area wherein the Chainsaw Sisters fight occurs entirely. Head to the back of the house by shooting the locked gate. Walk backwards into the side of the house, from left to right, while using your scope to aim down at the ground.

If you pause and load your most recent autosave while doing this, you should load into the wall. Go through the wall and head south of the Checkpoint area, where you can come out of the wall right beside the Chainsaw Sisters, who will not attack you.

Skip Mendez Boss Fight

Note: This only works on Assisted, Standard, and Hardcore difficulties.

Update 4/23: This scope glitch has been fixed as of the Ver. 1.05 update and will no longer work.

You can skip the Mendez boss fight in Chapter 6 by using the autosave and sniper scope glitch. Note that you can't earn the Grilled Big Cheese achievement doing this, so it's only worth doing only after your first playthrough.

To do this, you need to go up the stairs and come back down once Ashley starts speaking. Head to the first 5 steps of the stairs, then aim your scope to the railings while going to the left. Stop moving once you're near the first step and then load your autosave. After loading, you will be glitched into the wall and you can start walking through it.

You can walk past the Mendez boss fight and head straight to the Castle.

Raise the Castle Cannon Earlier

There's no need to fight off the enemies outside the entrance to the Castle, while simultaneously dodging attacks from the catapult. You can instead shoot the weight from a window in order for the cannon to lift up immediately.

Gallery Bridge Does Not Lower

Method with Hand Grenade

While crossing the bridge in the gallery section, an enemy will pop out of a corner and pull a lever that lowers the bridge, exposing you to an ambush of enemies. You can skip this gallery bridge lowering by killing that enemy before the cutscene of it popping out and pulling the lever.

You can do this with either a hand grenade or a bolt thrower attached with an mine.

Method with Bolt Thrower

When using a bolt thrower, it may take a while longer for the attached mine to explode, compared to a grenade.

Skip the Verdugo Boss Fight

Skip the Verdugo boss fight on Chapter 10 by using the sniper scope glitch and waiting for the elevator to arrive.

First, freeze Verdugo using the Nitrogen Pipes found in the area. Doing so will give you ample time to open the gate leading to the elevator. Once the gate is opened, head towards the room with the elevator.

Once you arrive at the elevator, aim down using the scope and lean against the elevator door. This will allow you to do the sniper scope glitch which will prevent Verdugo from reaching you. Enter the elevator and continue on to skip the boss fight.

Destroy Mines Obstruction Without Dynamite

You can destroy the obstruction blocking your path in the mines with a Rocket Launcher, instead of going on the detour to find dynamite that will destroy it.

However, this skip is not recommended for higher difficulty levels such as Hardcore and Professional, given the price and better uses of the Rocket Launcher in those higher difficulty modes.

Salazar Statue Skip

You can skip the Salazar statue in the clock tower by shooting the red explosive barrel on the back of its head. This will disable the statue from breathing fire and make your climb easier.

Automatic Turret Skips

You can skip the automatic turret lasers on the Island by either having an enemy walk in front of the laser or having an enemy knock you behind the laser. This can be done in Chapter 13 with a Brute walking in front of the laser and in Chapter 15 with a Novistador spawning to knock you behind the laser.

Destroy Cargo Depot Wall Faster

In the Cargo Depot section of the Island, if you shoot the Rocket Launcher at the wall that Ashley is trying to destroy with a wrecking ball, it'll only take 2 hits from the wrecking ball to be destroyed.

Even if this will save you a great amount of time, it's not recommended. It's better to save the Rocket Launcher for fighting the final Saddler boss fight.

Anti-Air Turret Skip

A way to progress faster in Chapter 15 is by throwing grenades on the AA Turret instead of taking the long way to use the machine gun. This skip can be done on all difficulties as long as you have Heavy Grenades or Hand Grenades.
