How to Beat Krauser |

|
You should get as many items on the second encounter before heading into this one, as it will be harder than the past encounters. You will be fighting a faster, stronger, and mutated Krauser.
Krauser will be sticking to you most of the time so having an SMG or Shotgun in your invetory will help you kill him quickly on this encounter. Use the Shotgun while face to face with Krauser, and use the SMG when he's moving around the battle area.
The battlefield is cramped on the third encounter, giving you only a small area to move around. Always dodge or parry to avoid getting hit by the attacks. Running around to evade the attacks will only increase the risk of losing your life, especially on higher difficulties.
Once Krauser sets foot on the cliff, start running to one of the ladders near the stone pillars and climb it to prevent yourself from taking damage. It should be easy to evade as it will show a very short cutscene first he does it.
There will be several ladders around the area that you can use to get to the elevated, circular platform. You can make this strategy work by climbing up and down and shooting Krauser while chasing you. Note that you need to be fast, and don't be too greedy if he's open to attack. Just shoot him enough that you can run away once he starts attacking.
Repeat the strategy until he dies. However, it will take some time to kill him with this strategy, so it's not recommended if you're trying to go for a speedrun playthrough.

Krauser can perform series of slashes and kicks once he transformed on this encounter. It comes with a simple slash attack, a roundhouse kick, or a spinning backhand slash. You can dodge by running or crouching or parry them to avoid the getting damage.
Krauser has a thrust attack that can hit Leon from a distance. You can parry this attack with your knife, or you can simply run away from it.
There will be times that Krauser will block his head to protect it during this encounter. Wait for him to bring his guard down before you attack to maximize the damage you can inflict!
Krauser can grab you on the head once you're close enough. You can avoid this attack by keeping your distance and moving around the arena. You can choose to break free or counter immediately with a Knife if you get caught!
Krauser can go up the cliff and slam the ground by leaping down. You will get damaged if you're too close to the center, so try to climb the ladders before he jumps on the cliff to avoid getting damaged.
Krauser can dash quickly toward you or away from your line of shots. He will sometimes follow up an attack after his dashes, so keep composed and don't panic to evade or parry his attack in time.

Is there any way to avoid his head grab? It seems crazy that the only way out of it is to mash to break free or knife counter, because the grab alone does a fair amount of damage at Hardcore and up. Also, this guide is missing one of his attacks, which is his unblockable spinning backhand, which also does a ton of damage and can catch you even if you run. It'd be nice if there was a way to avoid that damage, as well.
