Saddler Boss Fight Tips and Strategies |

|
Before entering the Saddler boss fight, you should visit the Merchant to stock up on resources, purchase any remaining weapon upgrades you need, and repair your knife and Body Armor. Doing this will increase your chances of taking Saddler down and ensure you have enough firepower to get through the fight.

Suggested Saddler Boss Fight Loadout | |||
---|---|---|---|
Handgun | SMG | Assault Rifle | Magnum |
Red9 | LE 5 | Stingray | Killer7 |
We recommend bringing the Red9, LE 5, Stingray, and Killer7 when taking on Saddler. Each weapon excels at shooting down Saddler's eyeballs and clearing out Novistadors in the first phase, while the Killer7 and Stingray can quickly tear through the second phase.
In the first phase of the fight, Saddler's main weak spots are the eyeballs on his limbs and mouth. Prioritize shooting down the four eyes on his legs to knock him down and open him up for a high-damage melee follow-up.
During this phase, we recommend using an SMG to easily track and destroy the eyes on Saddler's limbs and equipping a Magnum to burst down the eyeball inside his mouth.
As the boss fight progresses, Saddler can jump into the air and slam down on one of the loading dock's platforms to destroy it, which limits your access to other parts of the arena. Take down Saddler's first phase as quickly as possible to prevent this from happening.
Try to take advantage of the explosive barrels scattered around the loading dock by luring Saddler to their position and detonating them when he gets close. Doing this lets you deal significant damage to Saddler without spending too much ammo.
After dealing enough damage to Saddler in phase one, he will jump to the center of the arena and begin summoning swarms of Novistadors. We recommend shooting at his eyeballs while he calls these enemies and only taking down nearby Novistadors when they become an issue to conserve ammo.
How to Beat Novistador
After taking enough damage, Saddler will shift to phase two. In this phase, your primary target will be the yellow orb at the center of his body. We recommend using a Magnum or Rifle in this phase to tear through Saddler's health bar and trigger Ada's cutscene as soon as possible.
Once Saddler takes enough damage in phase two, Ada will throw a Rocket Launcher (Special) at your feet. Pick up and use this special weapon to take down Saddler instantly and complete the boss fight.
Note that you can't change or use other weapons once the Rocket Launcher (Special) is on the field, as it's normally the only way to kill Saddler. If you don't kill Saddler shortly after receiving the Rocket Launcher (Special), he will kill Leon instantly, resulting in a game over.
If you saved a regular Rocket Launcher or bought one from the nearby Merchant, you can use it immediately when phase two starts to kill Saddler instantly, skipping the scene where Ada throws the special rocket launcher. This method also works with the Infinite Rocket Launcher.
We highly recommend using this strategy when aiming for an S+ Rank on your current playthrough to save as much time as possible.
Can You Kill Saddler Without the Rocket Launcher?
Saddler Attacks and Moves |

|
If you get too close to Saddler, he'll attack you with one of his limbs. You can dodge this attack by sprinting away from him or dealing enough damage to his eyes before it connects.
Saddler can call out a swarm of Novistadors to the arena during the boss fight. You can shoot at Saddler's eyeballs while he calls these insects to maximize your damage output, then clear out any nearby Novistadors as needed with an SMG or Handgun.
Saddler can spit black acid toward Leon from a distance, dealing heavy damage on contact. You can dodge the horizontal sweeping acid by crouching and evade the triple vertical spit by sprinting sideways.
During the second phase, Saddler is limited to slow-moving tentacle attacks. You can dodge sweeping tentacle attacks by pressing the Dodge button as it appears and evade tentacle slams by strafing sideways out of their path.
