A section in Chapter 8 will require you to pull a series of switches marked with sun and moon icons to get to the next area. The gate blocking your path on the second floor is being held by a weighted object from the outside that you can't see. However, you can shoot in the general direction of the weight to hit it, opening the gate, and allowing you to skip the switches.

The Rhinoceros Beetle can also be found in the Castle during the events of Chapter 8. Once you're in the courtyard it's in the northwest corner when facing the fountain with fish. You'll need to step into the water to grab it.

The first combat encounter in Chapter 8 can be approached in different ways. In the ceiling is a chandelier with a switch on the top floor to drop it. With the right timing, dropping the chandelier can eliminate several enemies instantly on the ground floor.
Matilda, which you can trade from the Merchant in Chapter 8 is a fictional weapon. The name is a reference to a movie called Leon: The Professional where a hitman named Leon takes in and trains a girl named Mathilda.
