All Mercenaries Rewards

Handcannon Bonus Weapon

You can unlock the Handcannon Magnum by getting an S rank or higher in all 3 stages. To get an S rank or higher, you simply need to score at least 200,000 points in a single run.

After unlock, this Handcannon bonus weapon can be bought in the Extra Content Shop for 1,000 CP and can be used in main story playthroughs.

Mercenaries Mode Guide

Much faster way of unlocking the Handcannon

Handcannon Unlock Methods Playtime Required
Mercenaries Mode Less than 1 hour
(No story playthrough required)
Complete Professional Difficulty without using Bonus Weapons 8-15 hours
(approx. time to beat main story)

Unlocking the Handcannon via Mercenaries Mode is a faster and more feasible way of unlocking the Handcannon, given that you don't need to complete the main story to even play Mercenaries.

The Handcannon's other unlock method is by completing a full run of Professional Mode without using any other bonus weapons, which means you'll need to beat the main game at least twice (once to unlock Professional and another to beat Professional).

No New Achievements or Challenges

Resident Evil 4 Remake Mercenaries Mode

The Mercenaries Mode DLC does not bring with it any new achievements or challenges to complete. Same as it was with the base game release, there remains only 40 achievements and 101 challenges.
