100% Completion Roadmap

Recommended Order for 100% Completion

First Playthrough on Standard

Resident Evil 4 Remake Leon Ending

For your first playthrough, we recommend playing on Standard. This playthrough is meant for you to take your time and enjoy the game while completing all story-related trophies and getting familiar with how it plays.

We also recommend obtaining all treasure map collectibles, completing all Requests, destroying all Clockwork Castellans, and getting an S Rank on every Shooting Range in this playthrough so you can focus on the more difficult challenges in future playthroughs.

New Game Plus Minimalist Run

For your next playthrough, we recommend entering New Game Plus in Assisted and going for the Minimalist trophy while going through the game.

Using only your choice of Handgun and Knife in this playthrough should allow you to save up enough Pesetas to buy the Infinite Rocket Launcher for the Gun Fanatic Trophy. In addition, playing on Assisted will make the run easier to complete.

Silent Stranger and Frugalist Run

After picking up the Infinite Rocket Launcher from the previous run, we recommend doing another Assisted New Game Plus round to get the Silent Stranger and Frugalist trophies.

With your prior experience from the previous runs and having an incredibly powerful weapon in the Infinite Rocket Launcher, you should be able to clear this run without talking to the Merchant or using any recovery items in under 8 hours.

New Game Plus Professional Run

After completing the prior runs, we recommend going for a Professional New Game Plus playthrough to get the Proficient Agent and Peerless Agent trophies and unlock the Chicago Sweeper for the Gun Fanatic Trophy. Note that you will have to reach at least an A Rank for this playthrough to get the Chicago Sweeper, so play through the game as fast as you can.

Professional Gun Fanatic Run

After getting some practice in the previous playthrough, you should now aim to complete a Professional run from a New Game to unlock the Handcannon for the Gun Fanatic Trophy. You are not allowed to use bonus guns in this playthrough, so it will be more difficult than usual to complete this run.

Mission Accomplished S+ Run

Since you cannot complete both S+ Rank trophies in the same run, you have to do them separately. We recommend starting off Mission Accomplished S+ as it's much easier and allows you to practice going for an S+ Rank in a New Game playthrough.

Our primary tips for this playthrough are prioritizing upgrades for the Chicago Sweeper, as its exclusive upgrade gives it infinite ammo, and avoiding Game Overs, as they increase your completion time.

S+ Rank Investigator Run

To unlock the Platinum trophy, you have to do one final Hardcore S+ run from a New Game to obtain the S+ Rank Investigator trophy. We recommend following the same tips from the Mission Accomplished S+ Run and playing at your best to get the S+ Rank at the end of the playthrough.

How Many Runs Are Needed?

Four Playthroughs at the Minimum

You will need at least four playthroughs to get 100% completion in the Resident Evil 4 Remake. However, clearing the game in this manner is incredibly difficult due to the demanding trophy conditions and game knowledge required.

Six or Seven Runs on Average

For an easier time getting 100% completion in the Remake, we recommend splitting the trophies into six or seven runs on average, like our recommended roadmap above.
