There are secret gameplay mechanics and easter eggs in Chapter 12 of Resident Evil 4 Remake (RE4). Read on to find out about an easy way to defeat the chapter's boss and references to other games in the series!

The Gold Chicken Egg treasure/recovery item can be used to defeat Salazar fast. 2 Gold Chicken Eggs are capable of totally depleting the health of the Salazar boss (1 Gold Chicken Egg to bring him to 2nd phase and another 1 to complete finish him off entirely).
If you missed completing the Egg Hunt Request back in Chapter 4, you can still complete it as the Area is unspecified. One Gold Chicken Egg can be found in the Throne Room you first visited in Chapter 10 at the start of Chapter 12.

At the start of Chapter 10, You can backtrack the area to explore. One thing you'll encounter is Salazar's Throne. If you move closer, there will be a prompt that you can press to have Leon sit on the throne. This is a reference to a similar easter egg in the original game.
Once you arrive at the Clocktower in Chapter 12, you can choose to ignore all enemies and climb the stairs. Approaching the second floor of the tower, you will see an explosive red barrel on the back side of the Salazar Statue.
Shoot the red explosive barrel to disable the statue and have a easier run in the clocktower.

The Trophy you get for beating Salazar in Chapter 12 is a reference to a line uttered by Leon to Salazar in the original game.
