This is a guide if you are having a hard time deciding on whether to prioritize Frame Rate or Resolution in Resident Evil 4 Remake. Read on to learn which visual priority will suit you!
Things to Consider |
---|
Desired Gaming Experience Hardware Available |
If you are playing Resident Evil 4 Remake on the latest console, you will definitely want to prioritize Resolution and Ray Tracing to give you the fully immersive cinematic feeling as you play your game.
Prioritizing Frame Rate will result into slightly lesser resolution, but will increase performance of hardware giving a better gameplay experience. Because it won't have to render every minute detail, your hardware would have more processing power routed to provide smoother gameplay.
By hardware, we do not limit this to either last gen or latest gen of consoles or even the specs of your PC; we want to include the Display Output hardware you will be using. The game has a lot of visually stunning scenes. If you wish to fully immerse yourself in the story, it is recommended that you have a display area of at least 1080p, with the optimal resolution to be 4K.
If you are running on last gen consoles or a PC that has specs just close to the minimum requirements, it is recommended that you prioritize Frame Rate to ensure that your gaming experience will be uninterrupted by drops and stutters as your hardware tries to render everything in the game.

Above are two images rendered at different priorities at 4K but cropped at 1080p. One is Frame Rate, the other is in Resolution, but which is which? To the untrained eye, it is almost impossible to distinguish the difference. However, choosing Frame Rate is better as puts a lighter load on your console or GPU as opposed to prioritizing Resolution.
