Best Shotgun

Choice for Best Shotgun Striker

Striker Is the Strongest Shotgun

Striker
RE4 Remake - Striker
A semi-automatic shotgun with a wide spread, making it effective at close range.
Power Durability Attack Speed Ammo Capacity
9.00 - - 12
Reload Speed Rate of Fire Precision Inventory Slots
0.25 1.13 2.00 8 (2x4)

The Striker is our pick for the best Shotgun in the game. It boasts the highest base power and base ammo capacity of any Shotgun in the game. It also takes up less space than most of the other Shotguns, giving you more room in your Attache Case.

Best Weapons: Weapon Tier List

All Shotguns Ranked

Rank Weapon Analysis
1 Resident Evil 4 Remake - StrikerStriker
・High spread can easily deal with multiple enemies.
・Has the highest base ammo capacity and can store shotgun ammo inside instead of the suitcase.
・Compact size saves space in the suitcase.
2 Resident Evil 4 Remake - Riot GunRiot Gun
・Excellent power when fully upgraded.
・Compact spread can quickly dispatch high-value targets at long range.
3 Resident Evil 4 Remake - W-870W-870
・Powerful early on in the game.
・Has a wide spread and poor range.
・Slow reload speed and rate of fire can put you in a tough position.
3 Resident Evil 4 Remake - Skull ShakerSkull Shaker
・Trades firepower for its compact size.
・Lowest power among the other shotguns.

These shotguns were ranked based on overall damage spread, firepower, and ammo capacity. Shotguns will be a staple weapon against tougher bosses and even normal enemy mobs, but having a more destructive shotgun will be the recommended course of action if you plan on playing on higher difficulties.

Skull Shaker vs. W-870 Shotgun

Use the W-870 Instead of the Skull Shaker for Early Game Shotgun

W-870
RE4 Remake - W-870
A 12-gauge pump-action shotgun. Its ease of use and sturdy, steel build have made it practically ubiquitous.
Power Durability Attack Speed Ammo Capacity
5.60 - - 5
Reload Speed Rate of Fire Precision Inventory Slots
0.60 0.45 2.80 16 (2x8)

While the Skull Shaker is more compact and has a better starting reload speed, the W-870 features higher base damage and ammo capacity, making it our preferred early game shotgun.

In addition, the W-870 doesn't require the Deluxe or Collector's Edition, and you can pick it up for free as early as Chapter 1, meaning it's more accessible than the Skull Shaker.

Riot Gun vs. Striker Shotgun

Pick the Riot Gun for Precision and Range in Mid Game

Riot Gun
RE4 Remake - Riot Gun
A semi-automatic shotgun. It utilizes an inertia-driven action system to reduce recoil and increase the rate of fire.
Power Durability Attack Speed Ammo Capacity
6.40 - - 7
Reload Speed Rate of Fire Precision Inventory Slots
1 0.75 3.50 16 (2x8)

While the Striker is our preferred Shotgun, you can use the Riot Gun if you're looking for a weapon with more range and accuracy. While it has less overall damage and takes up more inventory space, the Riot Gun is still a potent Shotgun that can rival the Striker.
