Shoot the Legs of Soldiers Carrying a Shield
If you do not have any grenades, it can be difficult to deal with the Soldiers carrying a shield. You can shoot their legs to stagger them and perform melee attacks.
Use Flash Grenades to Kill Plagas
Because your weapons have a slow fire rate, you might have trouble dealing with Plagas since they move quickly. Make sure that you save your Flash Grenades and use it on them for an instant kill.
Use Mayhem Mode to Flinch Enemies

Luis' Mayhem Ability allows him to plant dynamite in his current position. You can use this multiple times as long as the Mayhem bar is not depleted. This is extremely powerful if you use it against a crowd of enemies or if you are overwhelmed by elite enemies.
Also, you cannot be attacked while you are planting dynamite. Nearby enemies will also flinch as soon as you trigger your Mayhem Ability. You can use this as a way to dodge incoming enemy attacks.
You Can Unequip the Biosensor Scope
Luis' SR M1903 rifle has the Biosensor Scope scope equipped by default. you can remove this to have an easier time aiming.
Use the Explosive Barrels
There are a lot of explosive barrels that can be found throughout the area. Make sure that you use them and lure enemies to kill them immediately. You can also use this against the elite enemies if you run out of turret ammo.
Spam Melee Attacks
Your melee attacks have a slightly longer animation than other characters. Also, you will be invulnerable to enemy attacks during the animation. You can spam this move if you are landing headshots with your Red9 to stay safe if you are overwhelmed.
Kill Elites Using the Turret
The Brute (Crossbow) may cause you some problems if you do not have your Mayhem ability available when they spawn. You can use the turret to kill them instead since your weapons cannot deal with multiple incoming enemies at once. One of the turrets can be found in the trench facing a small cave that leads to the house. Meanwhile, the other turret is near the large gate beside the stairs.
