The Blacktail is definitely worth it, as it has high damage and its exclusive upgrade adds more to its raw power. It can also easily stagger enemies, making them vulnerable for a melee prompt. If you plan on fully upgrading Blacktail and use it until the final boss, it is definitely worth it.

Can Rival the Red9

The Blacktail is the only weapon that can rival the Red9 in terms of damage output. Although the Red9 has higher power by 0.3 and ammo capacity by 3, the Blacktail can make up for this gap through its reload speed and rate of fire.

Additionally, the Red9 will require a stock to decrease its recoil, making the Blacktail more cost-effective as it does not need any attachments and is easier to re-aim with its lower recoil.

How to Use Blacktail

Use at Close to Mid-Range Encounters

Blacktail is a good weapon to use at close to mid-range distances because of its accuracy and power. It's also better to use on normal or weaker mobs instead of your better guns, as it's easy to get and craft its ammo.

Stun Enemies and Go for a Melee Attack

Blacktail also has the power to stun an enemy for a short time, allowing you to a follow-up melee attack for extra damage while saving up some ammo. However, do note that it might take a while or not work even on stronger enemies.
