Once you acquire the Hexagonal Emblem, simply interact with the hexagonal indentation. The solution to the gate puzzle is to rotate to the left once, then flip the emblem. Afterwards, you will now be able to open the gate.

From the locked gate, head in the opposite direction down a narrow cliffside path. After disposing the ganados there, you can get the Hexagonal Emblem can be found in the tower at the center of the Valley.
