The chapter will start in a narrow muddy path. Follow it until you reach a gate, where a deer carcass lie nearby. You can examine the deer if you wish.
Keep moving forward then crawl under the barb wires to find an abandoned house. Upon entering, turn left to the hallway and check the first room to your right. You will find a Crude Charm with a writing at its back. Examine it to receive a file.
Exit the room and go around the back through the hallway. The blood-painted wall ahead is locked, so enter through the other door for a cutscene.
When you're back in control, grab the Hunter's Lodge Key beside the villager's body and check the Officer's Badge on the floor near the door. Weapons will also be enabled after the cutscene. Currently, you only have a knife and a handgun.
Return to the marked door from earlier and use the key to unlock it. Go down the basement and enter the room on the other side, where you will find the officer's corpse.

Go back to the previous room and ready your handgun as the Ganado (what the villagers are called) from earlier awaits you at the stairs. Go up the stairs and onward through the hallway. Two more Ganados are searching the house but you can sneak past them by moving while crouched. Instead of taking a left at the end of the hallway to where you found the Crude Charm, turn right to the previously hidden room with a staircase.
Open the cabinet in front of you for a Green Herb then go up the second floor. Enter the room for another cutscene.

Follow the trail and across the bridge to find a cabin. Before you enter, you can interact with the barrel just outside for some Handgun Ammo. Keep an eye for these containers especially if you're in need of bullets or healing. Immediately upon entering, you will find a Typewriter, which is used to save your progress (disabled in the demo).
Enter the next room to get to the other side of the area. Keep moving forward towards the ruined cabin with a dead wolf outside (could be the dog from the original). You can open the drawer inside the cabin for more Handgun Ammo before returning to the main path past the fallen tree.
Two villagers will attack you as you approach the truck. Take them out and find a small cabin up the winding trail. A villager will be waiting just behind the entrance so try to lure him out first for a clear aim. Grab the items inside including the Red Herb. Combine this with a Green Herb to restore your health to full.
At the end of the trail is the gate to the Village Square. We recommend that you take the path on your left first and be sneaky until you reach the house east of the village.
Hug the north side of the village while crouched. Continue moving east, grab the Green Herb near the logs, and take out the forking villager with a silent knife attack (a prompt will appear on-screen for this action). Now that you're behind the two-story house, quickly run to its front door to proceed to the next objective, alerting the entire village.

As soon as the cutscene ends, turn around and block the window by moving the cabinet next to it. This will stall the villagers for a time while you loot the house. At the back of the house are some ammo, materials, and a First Aid Spray. Run to the second floor and grab the W-870 on the wall as well as the Hand Grenade from the cabinet. This will help you take down the Chainsaw Man.
Run to the other side of the room and kick down the ladder to buy you more time. The goal here is to survive for around three and a half minutes.
When the Chainsaw Man gets into the house, don't panic and quickly equip the W-870. Empty your shotgun on him and try to aim for a stagger by shooting his head. This will give you a chance for a melee attack to deal damage and more space so you can flee to another safe spot. If you have some durability on your knife left, you can also parry his chainsaw to avoid dying instantly.
Once you're out of shotgun shells and grenades, you can jump out the window next to the cabinet where you got the hand grenade and run around the back. You can jump down and move away from the villagers if you get cornered.
Since you only have your handgun with you, try to conserve your remaining ammo by shooting their head until they're staggered and open for a melee attack. This is also possible on the Chainsaw Man but will take much longer due to his durability.
One way to save ammo and knife durability is to shoot an enemy's head or leg to stagger them. If you're successful, a prompt will appear when you approach them that allows you to do a melee attack and deal heavy damage. Most enemies in the demo (Standard difficulty) will fall in one headshot from the handgun and a follow-up melee attack.
Flash Grenades also do the same effect in the area of impact. Try throwing one in the middle of a group and go on a kicking spree!
Crates and barrels with yellow tapes can be interacted with and broken to obtain items such as ammo and crafting materials. Keep an eye on these as you go to replenish your supplies.
If you get grabbed by an enemy, it is much better to break free from it normally than using your knife. Knifing the enemy when you're grabbed uses a lot of its durability, and once it's completely depleted, you won't be able to use the knife to block or parry attacks.
You will lose a significant amount of health but it's a lot easier to recover the health you lost than the knife durability that you would've used if you decide to take the other way out.
To the right of the village entrance is a barn with a cow inside. You can lure a horde of Ganados into the barn once the fight starts, including the Chainsaw Man, quickly run out the other side, then shoot the lantern hanging from the ceiling to set everything inside the barn on fire including the cow.
The burning cow will also run down anyone in its path until it falls, which you can exploit to quickly clear the mob.
Want to try out a weapon other than the handgun and shotgun? You can find the TMP in a secret area within the Village Square by emptying your inventory!
Just discard every single item in your inventory before opening the village gate then find the well behind one of the houses on the south side. The metal cover that's supposed to be blocking the ladder will be removed and you can go underground to find the rapid-fire weapon, a kitchen knife, and some SMG ammo.

You can get a Great! rating in the demo by obtaining a total of 10,000 pesetas. This is only possible by killing two Chainsaw Men, who drops 3,000 pesetas each, and looting the remaining money needed from the other Ganados.
Now, how do you spawn two different Chainsaw Men in the demo? As soon as you enter the village and alert its evil residents, run towards the northeast corner of the map, through the path by the tower, to spawn the first Chainsaw Man. The cutscene of his entrance will trigger as soon as you get close to the gate.
To spawn the second Chainsaw Man, enter the house across the tower (where the W-870 is) to trigger another cutscene.
Taking down two Chainsaw Men with the starting gear is tough, but doing it before the time runs out is even tougher. To pull this off, discard your inventory and get the TMP under the well, including the ammo and Kitchen Knife, and get back up on the other side quickly. Villagers might drop down on you as you climb up, so just spam the climb button or clear the base of the ladder first.
Once you're back up, spawn the first Chainsaw Man and use the TMP until he's staggered then go for a melee attack. Repeat until he drops the pesetas.
Run towards the house with the shotgun to spawn the second big guy and do the same—except this time, you'll have a shotgun and a hand grenade with you. You can jump outside the roof to avoid getting cornered indoors.
