Hunk's Mayhem Mode: Infinite Ammo

The best Mercenaries ability is Hunk's Infinite Ammo. This allows Hunk to continuously deal damage to enemies without reloading. It's a rank above other Mercenaies abilities due to its strong fire power and ease of use.

During Mayhem Mode, Hunk gains infinite ammo until the Mayhem gauge depletes. You will be able to hold down the fire button and shoot continuously with Hunk's submachine gun without needing to reload.

When to Use Hunk' Mayhem Mode

Hunk's Mayhem Mode is best used against tough enemies. Hunk's only gun is his submachine gun, so it is the best and only way to defeat tough, bullet-spongy enemies and elite enemies.

Krauser's Mayhem Mode: Monster Transformation

Krauser's monster transformation is second on the list due to its incredible burst power. This ability comes in handy when surrounded by a group or against elite enemies.

During Mayhem Mode, Krauser releases the Las Plagas blades from his arms and is then able to attack with them. Using R2 / RT performs a series of combo attacks, while L2 + R2 / LT + RT will perform a mid-range stinger attack.

Krauser's Mayhem Mode is best used when surrounded by enemies. The rest of your weapons should pick off enemies at mid-to-far-range, but when a horde of enemies get too close to you, thin out their ranks by unleashing Mayhem Mode.

Luis' Mayhem Mode: Timed Dynamite

Luis' timed dynamite is a useful but limited special attack. This ability packs an explosive fire power but is further down the list due to it's difficulty of use. To properly take advantage of this ability, you have to plant the dynamite in a well placed position and detonate it with precise timing.

During Mayhem Mode, Luis' plants dynamite onto the ground. This dynamite will explode after a set amount of time or when it is shot at.

Luis Serra Mercenaries Loadout and Abilities

When to Use Luis' Mayhem Mode

Luis Explosion

Luis' Mayhem Mode is best used in tight corridors and choke points, where enemies are funneled together, and the explosion can reach all of them. Triggering Mayhem Mode also puts you in a state of invincibility, so it can also be used as a panic button when you're surrounded as you plan your next move.

Leon's Mayhem Mode: Increased Attack Power and Speed

Leon's increased attack power and speed is ranked in the bottom of Mercenaries abilities due to its underwhelming effect of only increasing Leon's stats for a short amount of time. While not a bad special ability, it's not the most useful either.

During Mayhem Mode, Leon's weapon attack power and firing speed are greatly increased, allowing your shots to deal greater damage to enemies.

Leon Strength

Leon's Mayhem Mode is best used when in a pinch or when you've lined up a good amount of enemies in front of you that you can pick off one by one to keep your combo going.
