After exiting the Village Chief's Manor, you'll encounter a dog stuck on a beartrap. If you choose to save the dog, it will come back in the next chapter to help you fight El Gigante.
Should You Save or Kill the Trapped Dog?
Before you reach the gate to the village, you will see a Ganado standing up the hill. Killing this Ganados will prevent the Colmillos from spawning.
It's recommended to aim for his legs as he starts walking away as soon as he sees you.

Charms are another thing you'll first encounter in Chapter 3. These can be acquired from a Token Machine in the Shooting Range. One of the Charms you could acquire is the Striker Charm which increases your running speed. This is a reference to a glitch from the original game with the same effect that can be triggered with the Striker weapon.

There is a secret way to die immediately in Chapter 3. Once you encounter the lake and before boarding the boat, stand on the edge of the dock and start shooting at the water. After a few shots, a cutscene will trigger where the Del Lago will immediately kill you. This secret mechanic is also implemented in the original game.
You first encounter the Shooting Range in Chapter 3. If you played the original Resident Evil 4, then the music playing in this area will sound familiar. It is the music from the original game's opening cutscene.
