When the fight starts, we highly recommend immediately collecting all Green Orbs while ignoring all enemies.
This grants bonus time as you claim each orb and funnels some enemies behind you, granting a multi-kill opportunity that can yield high points and combo count.
Plaga can also spawn in the Island stage; they can latch onto Soldiers which makes them faster and more dangerous.
Utilize your flash grenades to kill Plaga instantly, and use the melee prompts against Elite enemies that are stunned.
Turrets allow you to quickly kill enemies you have funneled without using your resources.
We highly recommend using these early to loot all ammo and throwables from the enemies you kill.
Utilizing explosive barrels is key to yielding high scores and combo count while only using a single bullet, as they instantly kill all nearby enemies.
We highly recommend not taking the Yellow Orb early, as that is much needed for enemies that show up after 90 or 130 kills.
Yellow Orbs grant you an instant Mayhem Ability charge, which is a need against stronger enemies that will enter the stage.
It's best to use your Mayhem ability against large groups of enemies as normal enemies from the island are harder to kill and are dangerous when they manage to surround you.
The best time to use your Mayhem Ability is when large groups of enemies and Elite enemies spawn after 100 kills.
We do not recommend camping at certain spots even for short periods. Aside from killing your combo count, groups of enemies can surround you and they can be hard to kill.

Krauser is the best Mercenary for the Island stage as he excels both in melee, ranged, and stealth combat with explosives, allowing you to create a versatile playstyle that suits your needs for high scores.
Krauser's Compound Bow can take out and displace multiple enemies because of its explosive arrows. His knife does not break easily and has its unique move set that is perfect for slashing down any nearby enemies.
Krauser Utility Guide: Island | |
---|---|
1 | Use the knife whenever you're surrounded by multiple enemies. |
2 | Run around to funnel enemies and use a Flash Grenade followed by an explosive arrow from Krauser's Compound Bow. |
3 | Kill Elite enemies fast using the Compound Bow's explosive arrows. |
4 | Use Krauser's mayhem ability against large groups of enemies and multiple Elite enemies to stack points rapidly and kill fast. |

Krauser is definitely not the best, Luis’s mayhem allows for a quite literal explosive play style. Luis’s ability gives a bunch of points and easily kills nearly everything. The way the map is structured Luis has plenty of places to bunch up enemies and loop around to blow them up, and from the top of the tower in island his long ranged firearms do more than enough damage to enemies still ascending the tower. His ability also knocks back enemies while placing dynamite and allows turret mounting
